Since they don’t seem to want anyone who isn’t on social media, (such as the elderly), I am letting others know that this company seems to discriminate with whom they want as customers. Hopefully, I can help this company become as big as Pan American Airlines is today. Not everyone has social media accounts, nor how to use social media. Someone has to speak up for the elderly. The real issue here isn’t just a free box of cereal, but whom this company wants as customers. The Today show whom is mentioned on this website, reports quite a bit about problems of the elderly, I would hate to think they support this discrimination.
there is a lot of things I dont get…i do not have a twitter account but i do not accuse a company of discriminating against me! Some things require you to have a facebook..twitter..instagram account. If you choose not to have one then just move on.
For what it’s worth, I didn’t have to actually use ANY social media to get my sample. Just my basic information (like name and address). It did ask me to create an account, but I never had to link a social media account.
My great-grandmother is 91 and she has a facebook she regularly participates in. It has nothing to do with being elderly. It is discriminating against people who do not have internet access, but they could go to a library if they really wanted one. How else would these be done in this day and age? I bet if someone hand wrote a letter to a company about a sample and said they did not have internet, the company would send them something in return.

I’m not trying to start a war here, but public media is the advertising of the future. More people are plugging into their phones and their computers than they are their television, radio and newspapers.
Unfortunately, not everyone adjusts to change or even wants to. To be honest, this is no different than going from billboard sign only advertising to television advertising. Some went with it, some didn’t. Ultimately, it has changed from billboards to internet.
Now I would so be up on a soapbox if I felt this was targeting a specific group such as the elderly. (You probably wouldn’t find anyone screaming injustice louder than myself.) This isn’t that though, because elderly do have and use social media. Maybe not as much, but they do use it.
It’s not discrimination because it’s not a judgement on the factors the population has determined to be unacceptable or not politically correct.
If any person does not want to use social media, that is a choice and it’s theirs to make.
Not getting cereal because of the color of your skin or being a male or female, that is discrimination.
I agree that Fbook and all social media are in your face, invasion of privacy, platforms. I support those that don’t sit and take up there lives w social media that has shown to cause depression amongst other things. No reason these companies can’t just have a form to fill out. It’s a joke.
Agree. The older generation is the fastest growing demographic on Facebook. Why do you think the teens are leaving for Vine, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.? We’ll talk discrimination when the phrase “senior discount” disappears.

I just filled out the freebie from 2 home PC’s and sent them to 2 elderly neighbors before reading your posts. I do that with all the freebies… I think it’s time they receive a break,also makes their day to get something in the mail and not know they are getting it.

Lol that’s what I got and kept refreshing. Then I said heck with it and clicked that complete bar and it brought up the page to link with you facebook, Twitter etc. Or create an account. Finally made it through. I think I got one lol…said it was shipping to name and address I gave

Got one after tried for the 5th time… The site is running EXTREMELY slow and sometimes error messages come out when there is nothing wrong…the connect to social networks did not work for me so I had to register

it insisted that i have a different email address than what i entered, so someone else is going to get my confirmation email. at least it let me edit the shipping info, since it originally wanted to send my sample to the other side of the country.

I tweeted but no sample offer showed up.
@CTCSquares responded to my Tweet with a link. (You can click it on any of the many, many tweets they’ve posted saying they need more information.) This will take you to the form … Choose connect with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or “Sign-In.” I used Twitter. It did take a few minutes for each page to process, but I didn’t get any errors. Just clicked once and waited patiently. 😉

I think I got one. But it had me signed in as “WheelnDealMama” on FB and has an Albuquerque address sending to a Linda, which is not me. I did go change all the info. Hopefully Linda and I get our samples!

Just tried AGAIN! What a pain before… However, I clicked on the GREEN BUTTON that said COMPLETE. This time the create username and password came up, accepted it and then asked for address and clicked submit and it went through… Hope that helps…
