Anyone own these? Is it fun for the kids, or will it be left in the corner? lol

I am on the same boat.I personally don’t think that would work, many kids may treat it like a toy. What do you all think?

      • Lala

We have it and my son who’s 5 only used it for an hour and didnt care about it afterwards.

Don’t have the reader, but my daughter (5) has had the pen about a year, and “reads” her books fairly often. She loves getting new ones. She does have the best handwriting in her prek class, but that might also be because she’s the oldest, but I think the books really do help.

I got this deal earlier in the day and there were a few options for the free books. I had seen it in the lightning deals area and it listed several options. I chose a work journal instead.

We have it, my daughter only used it during a short window. She preferred to be read to instead

    • cannielle

Thank you,Kristina!Mine like to be read to as well,I honestly think she would not enjoy this.

I think it all depends on the child, to be honest. My daughter has the older version (the tag) and she LOVES it and has specifically asked for this toy for Christmas.

I actually had just purchased this toy at toys r us for $50 (for just the reader, no books!) the other day so now I can return it, save almost 20 bucks on the toy and get some books basically free! Thanks for the awesome deal! 🙂

We have one and i would say it gets some use. Not daily, though. It’s great for when i need to nurse the little one and she wants something to do. It also plays some music and asks trivia, and they use that function too

If I remember correctly the tag jr had very limited storage space on it as far as uploading books goes. Anyone know if it’s the same with this?

    • Emily

We bought this for my niece and they had just updated it. You can fit 40 books on it at one time. My niece LOVED the map we bought her to use with it.

  7. Brittany

The deal works for the green one too. You pay 50 cents more. By the way, does anyone know if these work with the tag and tag junior books?

For what it’s worth, my five year old daughter loves her Leap Reader and books. Three year old daughter occasionally uses it, too, but not as much. It will obviously depend on your kids. Ours love to be read to, but when making dinner, etc, it’s great for them to sit down with on their own. I am glad we have ours, others may not use it as much.

It isn’t working for me. I add both to my cart as instructed but it’s coming up $51.42 in my cart and not deducting the price of the Learn to Read Volumes. Am I doing anything wrong or did I miss the boat?

    • Jenny

Julie, I had this same problem. You have to actually begin the checkout process and it is there that you will see the breakdown and the lowered cost. You will be able to see the new total before you commit to pay.

You are right! It worked! Thanks!!

My kids love their tags, it happened to be one of the only ways I could get my daughter interested in books. Unfortunately, my son has never had a decent Tag that holds more than 5 books at a time, and we have quite a collection, so this will be great for his birthday!! Thank you!

  12. Tory

Thanks! I was lost over ideas for my son for Christmas since he just had a b-day, now I have one gift checked off!

  13. Cherie

    Good for long car rides

  14. Ina

Do the books mentioned in the post work with the Leap Reader mentioned in the post? Can we use the bookes without having to download anything else on the reader?

  15. BJ Duenne

I can’t get this to work – has this promotion ended??

  16. Angela Hewitt

My daughter LOVES this! She started using it when she was 2, she loves to get new books too!

  17. Heather Hall

Does this special price still work today? I have tried both the pink and green and my price is full price all the way through the check out process. Any help is appreciated.

  18. Amber

I bought mine earlier today and got this price. My niece try to buy it this evening and the discount was not taken off so it must be over.

  19. Jennifer

    Not working for me. 🙁
