Just a reminder…

American Express cardholders! Don’t forget that you can still head over here and register your American Express card to be eligible to participate in Small Business Saturday. Note that registration is limited, so I suggest registering right away. Then on Saturday, November 29th only, use your registered American Express card at participating small business merchants and you’ll earn up to three $10 statement credits!

NOTE – Corporate Cards and all prepaid Card products (other than American Express Serve and Bluebird) are not eligible.

Here’s what you need to do…

* Head over here to register your American Express card (you may register one card for this offer)

* Using your registered American Express Card, spend $10 or more at participating small business merchants on Saturday, November 29th. Qualifying small business locations appear on the Small Business Saturday Map found at ShopSmall.com. You may purchase multiple items that together equal $10 or more, but you must purchase them in a single transaction to receive the statement credit. Online transactions do not qualify.

* Receive the $10 statement credit (or up to 3!). Your credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after November 29, 2014, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase.

(Thanks, Rea & Ning!)

  2. D Haban

Yes, very nice! Thanks Collin! Registered our Citi Amex, Delta Amex and both Serve cards … gotta’ love it!

    • Veena

I have Macy’s and Merrill Lynch and both are not eligible for this promotion.

      • EG

I registered my macys amex with no issue. where does it say it isn’t eligible for this promotion?

      • AJ

my macys amex worked- and worked last year

    • Veena

      What is Serve cards?

  3. Sweet

Thank you for the reminder! This is such a great deal that it can be done 3 times, for $30 worth of statement credits!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      I know… it ROCKS! 🙂

  4. Susan

For those of you who need ideas, I did this last year and you can just go in and buy 3x $10 gift certificates at LOCAL small restaurants near you and use them later! Like D Haban said, you can register multiple AMEX cards so for me 4x Amex cards = $120 in free money!

  5. Tina

Does anyone know whether you can make 3 purchases at the same merchant or does it have to be at 3 different merchants?

    • Lana

I would read all the fine print carefully before doing it. Gas purchases are excluded and we did not know that last year and did not get out credit.

      • dre

We never got our credit from last year either! And I didn’t realize why until I just read your post (we got gas too). Thanks! Haha… I should have read the fine print!

    • lovedeals

Enter your zip code and you will see all the participating businesses.

  6. Judy Trac

What do they mean x3? Does that mean I can swipe my card 3 separate times with same merchant?

    • EG

yes. same merchant or a different one.

  7. Alicia

Anybody know if a Costco Amex is considered a corporate card?

    • Karen

I have the Costco American Express card and have done this for the last couple of years

  8. MH

Perfect! Just found a great holiday teacher gift! Free restaurant gift cards…thanks, Collin!

  9. Kim

The fine print is not clear to me. Can I make three $10 purchases back to back from an eligible store or does it have to be 3 separate stores?

    • Autumn

No. 3 transactions. As long as they each exceed $10.

  10. Jessica

Am I correct that last year you did not have to be an American Express Cardholder? You just needed to have a small business and they mailed out $25.00 Gift Cards? Does anyone remember this or Did I miss that post? Lol
    Thanks

    • Autumn

Every year it’s a different promotion.

    • shopper

Sounds like a completely different promotion FOR businesses, this is for customers to come to your business. Last year for cardholders you received a $10 statement credit.

    • Sweet

Are you possibly thinking about the Fed Ex promotion? They gave away $25 gift cards for Small Business Saturday.

    • EG

There was one year where they sent out $25 cards but it wasn’t last year. few years back.

  11. Pattil24

This is an awesome promotion and I’ve participated for several years! Basically it’s free money! So help support our small businesses and get some awesome freebies. If you live in Portland, Or, come by The Arrangement on N.E. Fremont. They have some beautiful gift ideas for everyone and feature lots of local products including jewelry, Pendleton blankets and lots more! Happy shopping!

  12. Amy

Is it $10 minimum purchase before or after tax?

  13. why?

after tax. That’s all amex sees.

  14. Lauren

Is anybody else confused on how to do this? I’m not seeing instructions anywhere
