Awesome deal! We love our Wii U and have had it for 2 years. The deluxe version is great because it has room to download free demos and games.
Can you play the regular wii games on the wii u console?
When I clicked on the item and read the extra details about the product it said “Plays almost all of your Wii games” so they must be saying it like that because certain ones won’t play. Maybe do a search on google and see what people have answered. HTH.
We have one and play Wii games on it. It has a Wii menu on it and you use your Wii controllers to play the game. The Wii U Pro Controller and Wii U game pad do not work for Wii games but that isn’t an issue.
you can play wii games on the wii u but you will need the wii remote to do so…you can’t play wii games with the wii u gamepad. Also to play some wii u games with two or more people you will all need wii remotes since you won’t be able to use the wii u gamepad. So if you currently have a wii I suggest you keep all the wii remotes to use with the wii u. HTH!!

I don’t think this one comes with a remote in the bundle. Still a great deal though.
The game pad is a remote but for another person to play, you need another remote/controller. You can use the old Wii ones or buy the Pro Controller

Ok, I have an xbox 360, so I really know nothing about the Wii U and reading about it has only helped a little. Can someone help me?!? Does it have a handheld portable device and also the regular console??? I was trying to decide between this and the Nintendo 3Ds. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thank you Collin again for saving my family money this Christmas! You and your staff rock! I saw this post and went to my local Wal-Mart here in Albuquerque. They did not have the bundle pictured above (Super Mario World 3D), but they did have a bundle with Mario Kart 8 (the one my daughter wanted). I asked the sales associate if I could get the same deal that I saw on line (the free $50 gift card). She said she didn’t know, but she would ring it up and it may come up automatically. Long story short, she rang it up and it DID give me the free $50 gift card! I turned right back around and was able to buy the other gave she wanted, Super Smash Brothers (normally $59.99) for $19 and change after I used the $50 dollar gift card I got from purchasing the Wii U.
