My surprise points came with so many exclusions I don’t know what to use them on. Any reader suggestions?
Took me forever to find what to use my $5 on from last week. I could get Toys, tools, kitchen items, clothing/shoes. There are a pair of women’s slippers for $5. I actually ended up getting some super glue. My points excluded HBA, pharmacy, stationery, home cleaning.
Can anybody tell me what would happen if I were to purchase an item with points and then return it. Would I get my points all back and would they expire in a year or so or do they expire in a shorter period of time? And would I get them all back?
Usually, I get them back. But I had to cancel an order because my store ran out of the item (and I didn’t want to drive 1.5 hrs to pick it up.) This time, they did not return my points. Not sure why.
I think if they are surprise points you will not get them back if you do a return. But if they are points that you earned from purchases, then you will receive them back.
I have a $10 off (0.00) any purchase but can never find anything to use it on even if it says ANY.

I’ve bought clothes for myself and kids, Christmas decorations, shoes, memory cards, a high chair, pots and pans…all kinds of stuff.
Kmart sells dish detergent, papertowels, laundry soap etc have you considered buying any of those items?
you are lucky yours work for these! mine always exclude ALL types of supplies: food, household cleaning, office/school supplies, health/beauty items, pharmacy items, etc. they also state exclusions about use on any discount items, clearance, markdowns or coupon items.
I order online for store pickup and I’m sure mine has all the exclusions you stated. Have you tried to use it or you just see the exclusions and don’t try?
Sorry, I meant it doesn’t seem to work on anything. I see my $10 surprise points but whatever I put on my cart, the surprise points don’t show at checkout even if it says I can use it on any purchase. 🙁

I did that too and the $5 didn’t show up on my card but when they put my cell # in it pulled up my name twice. The $5 was on my name that wasn’t linked to my card. No idea why it’s like that. So give them your cell # it should pull up that way!

No points for me today. I did get $5 in points a few days ago and I scored that deal on the men’s flannel p.j. pants from Kmart. I got 2 pr. for a total of $1.42!!
Wow, I got excited when it said I had $25 in surprise points… until I clicked on full details. $10 off $75 tools, $10 off $40 clothes (excludes clearance) and $5 off $10 jewelry. Nothing I will be using!

ideas to purchase with points (socks, washcloths, spray paint, storage hooks, kids tops, workout clothing)…in STL Sears has a hardware store where you can use points and do free pick up (that’s where I get spray paint!).

Bought speaker for $79.99, applied my points and received 70,000 points = $70. Not a bad deal!

I got 10$ so I ordered ziploc bags and slow cooker liners. I had 28 cents of aye points so I got 3 packs of bags and 1 pk of liners for free! I’m getting ready to buy a deep freezer tonight or tomorrow and then I’m taking an afternoon to fill it with freezer crockpot meals!

I got $6 in surprise to spend on Sears.com. Almost no exclusions. However when I tried to followed their links to redeem, put socks, clothes… tons of thing in the cart, they would not let me redeem more than 50 cents in points! Also tried to log out and back in on both Sears.com and SYW… Keep telling me to redeem the $6 but just won’t let me in the cart! 🙁 What a waste of time!
Finally found things that I can use the $6 on, but now it’s not giving me option to use free shipping with my Shop Your Way Max trial membership! What gives?
Okay… found out SYW Max is pretty useless… Lots of things don’t qualify. No wonder I’ve never used it before, now I remember why.

I went to Sears to pick up online order, I bought a fleece throw for $3.99 with surprise points from a few days ago then the gentleman said I going to get another $5 surprise points towards next purchase just for making a purchase today. So I went to another register on my way out and purchase another fleece throw. I’m building my donation closet for shelters and work’s adopt-a-family program. My sixteen year old niece was with me and we were both excited about getting them for free to donate to people that really need them. So thanks to you Collin and your team for the information. Glad too see I’m not the only one who has trouble using the points. Only one time was I able to redeem and that was when they gave out the $20 around Black Friday. Not sure if I just got lucky or if more things were included in the deal or what. But everytime I’ve tried since then all I’ve gotten is a headache.

This seem so weird why some get $ off wys $$/? and others get surprise points with no exclusions. I am so confused there seems to be no rhyme or reason to who gets what! Some who spend a lot don’t get anything and I have read those who never spend any oop there get free points all the time. Someone has to know what to do for everyone to get some real surprise point without all the stings attached. I get $10 off when I spend $50 and what nots but I have to spend a certain amount. Are there really surprise points that people get for just opening an email? I have thought i have got them before but once I scroll a little further down I see all the when you spend amounts and stuff.

When I go to my shopyourway.com account and put my cursor over my points amount it literally ALWAYS says “No Surprise Points Yet” in that one spot. Is that where everyone is saying they see their surprise points or is there some other place you get them?? I buy a lot of stuff through these stores and I have never gotten any surprise points at all. Is there some way to find maybe codes or something? I would even be soooo happy for that $10 off $50 people were talking about! Thanks!

I think sears is trying to trick you into buying their membership for two day shipping. They offer 3 months free trial. Then 39$ so be careful. Btw: I had the free 5000 points! Thank you
