  You will need to pay additional if you efile state only. That is the same for all tax programs .

   I have done my taxes through H&R Block for the last four years directly through their website. I only pay to submit my State Return everything else is free and I can download and make copies of any of my prior returns and all my information is already loaded. What does this software do?

  Don’t think it’s very different, it’s that some people don’t qualify for free file.

   The H&R Block Deluxe + State program download is $21.99, includes 5 free federal e-files, and includes a free state program. You have to pay for state e-filing, but I usually e-file our federal returns and print & mail our state return, or I can print the state return and use that information to file online at my state’s dept of revenue website.

  Thank you for the suggestion! I enjoy doing our own taxes and this is a great product. Usually use Turbo Tax online but this will import that information for us!

   Don’t forget that active duty MILITARY personnel with a Military One Source account (I’m unsure about retired/reserve military) can use the H&R Block online program for free! Not only the basic form EZ either……I have a rental house and have had 2 state returns and fairly complex tax situations and pay absolutely nothing for the online software. The trick is you have to go through the Military One Source links. I hope this helps someone!
