I am loving this upcoming McDonald’s promotion – such a sweet idea! 🙂

Starting February 2nd and running through February 14th, McDonald’s will let select customers pay for their orders with “lovin” only including selfies, hugs, blowing a kiss, dancing and more. 5. Renee

Love It! February 2nd and 3rd look like the best odds with higher numbers of winners per time slot… May have to dine in on those days just so I can watch and see if someone wins! 🙂

  6. Deb B

I think this is just awesome!!

  7. Heather

Way to go for McDonald’s for thinking outside the box! Even though my family hasn’t eaten there since driving from MA to CO 2 years ago (It’s practically all we ate for days) I feel like this company has really made themselves very likeable and “feel good” with their new add campaign. I had a couple of tears myself… I am admittedly a sap !

  12. Judy Trac

    I want free food

  13. Joy

Love this idea, but I think I might be embarrassed if I was selected. I don’t like to draw attention.

    • Holly

Me too! I agree though, awesome idea!

  14. shireen

    Love the idea

  15. Loretta

That is such a great thing to do by McDonalds. I just hope there aren’t a bunch of whiners who say how unfair it is because they didn’t get chosen. Super generous of you, McDonald’s!

  16. todd

The employees at the McDs around me can barely speak English. I seriously doubt that they will ask this white boy to pay by dancing.

    • Renee

      Haha!

  17. Heather C.

    Yup… Video teared me up too… 😊

  18. Tonya

    That’s sweet

My FIL experienced this when he went to McDonald’s a few months ago. He had to turn around and tell this other group of people to “Have a nice day!” and then on the way out they had him sign a form and say “Have a nice day!” to the camera. They told him if he ended up in a commercial, he’d get $200. He was happy to get the free food!

So funny, it happened when I was at a McDonalds last September. I went in for coffee and the cashier (he was one in the video) told the man in front of me to spin his kid around and hug him for free food.

At the time I had no idea this was actually a promo and thought it was just a cashier being weird. They taped me for my reaction and I told them it was nice but also a little on the creepy side. (After all I had no idea this was a real promo).

They gave me $15 to sign a release.

  20. jean

Dumb promo! Employees will probably just pick their friends for the free meals and tell them when to come in.

    • Ana

Wow what a way to burst everyone’s bubble. Negativity is what’s making this world so hateful..

      • mike

Nice video and thought, but very small prize pool. 65 of the 100 prizes/rest. is on 3 days according to the rules. https://www.mcdonalds.com/pwlrules/
Looks like monday feb 2 is the best day…35 prizes spread across the day.

Enjoy the thought and video, but don’t get too excited about the promo. $5.60 aprox. retail value.

    • Robyn

Comments like this are exactly why this is not a dumb promo. I hope you win, or at the very least witness someone winning and feel the lovin’! 🙂

  21. Tia

I want these employees at the McDonald’s I go to!

  22. Jean

We only eat McD’s on roadtrips (or when I’m pregnant LOL), but I love this commercial! Tears!!!!

  23. cheapcheapgoesthemommy

Does anyone else get confused about the dancing fries commercial? The fries are dancing on a bench in the park. I have literally yelled to the jogger lady “STEP AWAY FROM THE FRIES! OR YOU WILL HAVE TO JOG FOR ANOTHER HOUR TO BURN THEM OFF!” I think offering cuties and yogurt is cute but lets face it..I’m not going to McDonalds for health food. Give me Greasy fries, type 2 diabetes shakes and Artery clogging McRibs! All in moderation…of course! 🙂

  24. cathycampo

How do you find out the participating locations?

  25. Unknown

Just wait in a week McDonald’s will be sued for someone for discrimination.

    • Andrew

      Agreed.
      Dumbest Promotion ever.

Someone will alert their friends and/or family to it. The rules are confusing too. People will come in any time they please and expect to get free food. They don’t understand the rules. And remember, you can’t return the food.
“Oh I thought you were running the promotion. Nevermind, I don’t want the food, I want a refund”.

    • April

Yup and you are the first one stirring the pot why dont you go be miserable somewhere else.

      • Andrew

Post 20 was the first one.

There are opportunistic people in this society that will take advantage of this promo and will want the food for FREE regardless. I expect a news story from somewhere on the 6 o’clock news. “Man attacks cashier at McDonalds because his food wasn’t free”.

        • Darlene Williams

Don’t always look at the negative there is enough of that going around…Be positive, think positive and live positive. Let’s not worry about things we can’t control.

          Keep the faith

  26. marilyn

I’m a manager at mcdonald’s and this is a great idea we will have daily envelopes that will tell us at what time to ask a customer to pay with love.(for managers to use only) They are not to be open until that day. So the crew don’t have an idea at what time will it be. *And remember this is only when you go inside Mcdonalds* NOT IN DRIVE THRU..

  27. Janel

I agree that on the surface this seems like just a feel good promo but based on the info given according to the rules the payoff is pretty tiny compared to the huge payoff and positive effect on McDonalds persona. Well played Mickey D’s

  28. Deb

I think its great! I will still give a hug and pay for my food!!

  29. Carolyn

I will do it 4 mc donalds any time I like attention
