Save at the grocery store with the Shrink Rewards IOS and Android App! This free app pays you cash back when you purchase select items at the grocery store AND rewards you for buying them again or getting your friends to buy those products. If you buy these items multiple times, you can unlock loyalty rewards like additional cash back or freebies!

Here’s how Shrink works:

* If you have an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and/or an Android Device, head over here and download the FREE Shrink App. After sign up, tap on Shrink Exclusive and enter the promo code HIP2SAVE (this referral code will give you 1,000 points equal to $1 cash back!)
* During the registration process, be sure to let Shrink know if you have certain food preferences, allergies, how large your family is etc. so they can cater offers just for you!
* Browse through Shrink’s offers and click the Add button to claim the offers you like before they’re gone (I spotted cash back offers for Kidfresh, GoodBelly, Rhythm Superfoods Kale Chips, Steve’s Ice Cream and more!)
* Unlock brands to get access to exclusive rewards.
* After you have purchased the item(s), just snap a picture of your receipt
* If you make repeat purchases or complete actions such as inviting friends or posting on Facebook, you’ll earn points and unlock special rewards from each brand
* Once you have reached a total of $20 cash back, you can redeem your cash back via Paypal

Tip: store all cash back apps together on your phone. (Mine are grouped on the screen after my home screen). That way you can make sure you don’t forget to use them after a grocery trip.

Does anyone know how far back a receipt can go? I know Ibotta is 7 days and Snap is 2 days. I can’t find any info for this site. I bought milk, apples & meat on Saturday, and wondering if the receipt would count.

    • mel

      OK! Found it!
Receipt must be submitted within one (1) week after purchase.

      • J

Thanks Mel. Wondering same thing about receipt dates.

    • Kristy

I’m in the same boat. I just looked it up and they say you can submit your receipt within one week after purchase!

I’m not impressed with this app and like checkout 51 and snap so much better. The fresh food deals on here go very quickly and the other deals (like the kale chips and pad Thai noodles and such) have been on the site for months and never change. I’ve only redeemed a few dollars with them and feel like it isn’t worth the effort. Just my two cents.

    • Laura

I’m with you on this one

      • Hunterwoody

Me too. I can never actually get cash…just points that seem to get you nothing. Probably will delete it. I love receipt hog, checkout 51, ibotta and lastly (and least) snap.

        • Emilee

I have the same as you! Except I have Shopmium as well. I don’t redeem very many rebates on Shopmium but I like it because you don’t have to wait to reach a certain amount to cash out. Each rebate is deposited directly into your account usually within 24 hours.

        • Jennifer N

There is also another one for receipts called receiptpal. It will even take e-receipts.

        • Patti

I agree that this app is not good at all. The offers I get are for obscure brands that I cannot find in any of my grocery stores. And as far as the points are concerned for the “normal” foods, I can get 20 points for buying milk and you need 1,000 points to get to a dollar! I never use it and plan to delete it if and when I ever get to $20.

    • Lera

Thanks for sharing. I will pass on this one then

    • Mel

Hi Ellen! This is Mel from Shrink. Unlike Snap / Checkout 51, we’re building a “catalog” of brands, so you can earn cash for trying their products & additional rewards when you find something you love. There are more brands / offers coming on-board in the next few weeks – please stay tuned!

      • Fran

Mel from shrink. I get lots of points for buying things like apples, milk but I don’t see how one uses the points. Could you address how one uses points earned from such items?

        • mel

I believe once you get 1,000 pts, that converts to $1?

          • Patti

So since I get 20 points for buying milk, I guess that means I would only have to buy milk 50 times to get one dollar! If I buy milk once a week, almost a year to earn a dollar!

            • kyrelesn

jingit, has improved a lot. they will even reimburse you .25 right away. i wish apps like ibotta and shrink would follow their lead.

            • Mel

The points actually go up to 50 if you purchase often (Silver, Gold, VIP). But other than that, we give out “any brand” cash rebates every week. (Fresh meat, fruit, etc.)

        • Mel

Hello Fran, if you could tap on “Rewards” within Shrink Brand page, you can convert points to rewards(Each brand has different rewards). For Shrink Exclusive, you can convert 1,000 points to $1, or more if you accrue them (8000 points = $10). Hope this helps!

      • ellen

sorry, I’ve been using this app for months now and still not impressed. Other apps are clearly much better targeted to my shopping interests. Unless something huge happens, I think you’ve already lost a lot of great shoppers 🙁

  19. Nilo

My code is JMCXNT . Thanks in advance 😊

  20. Casey

I used someone’s code, would appreciate if someone used mine!

    IPNJCO

  21. Pharmchick

Of course it makes sense to the app, but as a consumer or user I kinda wish they didn’t need $20 minimum to cash out.. The only way I was able to cash out with snap was bc of the huggies wipes deal. Even ibotta has a minimum of $10 now and I think before it was any amount or maybe $5? Anyway mini rant over lol.

    • tdim

Yes I agree , $20 is too high and checkout 51 has stuff I never buy, only like ibotta

      • Terry

I am reluctant to use this site because I do use Checkout 51, and have had to plod along doing 25 cents a week because I only use their app for the one fresh fruit or veggies they will allow. I buy mostly organic, which foods are never on the list, and a few weeks ago they had organic soup/broth on the list (I read on this site) but not in my area! I wrote and asked why not and was told it was a demographics thing. I have $17.25 right now and figure it’s 15 weeks to cash out. Discouraging!

        • spongemonkey

          Your addition is a bit off – – – it’s 11 more wks to cash out @ $.25¢ per wk as you stated – – – but who’s counting?

    • Lindak

I agree – $20 is too high to cash out and I’ve had the same offers for months. Let’s face it, I’m never going to use the $8 vodka refund!

  22. J

I signed up a little while ago because I buy the kid fresh meals frequently. I already find this app confusing. Ibotta still my favorite. May forfeit the $ I just claimed on a couple items and take this app off. Ibotta is so much simpler. Snap is becoming frustrating for me. If I claim something that is more then 1 in quantity they will tell me that the item is not on my receipt even though I bought the same item days prior and only had one quantity claimed (listed the same way from same store and credited with no issue for that purchase). The emails state I can reply to the denial email, but then I get nothing. They just delete my receipt as no longer pending and don’t reply to the email. I find that the snap customer service emails are not friendly in tone. I do realize that tone is hard to convey via worded message, but I mean they word it in a way that does not seem friendly. With saving star I am having to submit receipts more than once as the app never shows as any pending and what used to take 2 days takes so much longer that I think my receipt has not gone thru. Sorry fellow hipsters. Did not mean to rant. Just my 2cents 🙂

    • Mel

Hi J, sorry you’ve found our app to be confusing. We’ve made some improvements to make it easier to follow. And please let us know if you encounter any issues or anything we can help with (team@shrinktheapp.com), and we’ll get back to you right away! 🙂

      • shauna

I actually love this app! Their points system may seem overwhelming at first, but it’s actually quite easy to earn more than $20. I buy Mrs. Thinsters, Dippin’ Chips, and Dr. Praeger’s frequently for my big family and I just got my 3 free items from each brand (they reimburse the full purchase price of the items). Please use my referral code: LXLLNT. Thanks

  33. Amanda

I used Amber’s. Please consider using mine. Thank you! HLVIQI

    • Lisa

      I used you code.

  34. jill

Please correct me if I am wrong but is it not polite coupon etiquette to ask people to use your referral code on someone else’s website?

    • Jen

I’m with you Jill. I just find this tacky. Since you didn’t ask, I’d be happy to use yours. 🙂

    • Melanie

Agreed – Collin should get all the credit but she never does that 🙂

  48. Dominique

I would love it if someone signed up under my referral link! I am up to the $20 minimum already and I haven’t even redeemed any of the brand rebates yet. The points really add up, too (get them on apples, milk, etc.). I got $1 for mentioning a referral code and $1 for filling out my profile when I first started out. Thank you so much in advance! I appreciate it so much! 🙂 Code = CZTJPH https://bnc.lt/l/3TWUjrk-D1
