i’m aware rite aid has a gold membership level. what i can’t fathom is a plausible scenario where a person would shop at rite aid so much that they would obtain said gold membership level…

    • Phyllis

      hello Jim,

The people usually achieve gold membership through regularly purchasing their prescription medicines such as insulin, heart medicines through Rite Aid. Other just shop there as much as they possibly can.

      • terri

I don’t take prescriptions and I hit it, and I don’t spend any money out of pocket either.

    • Juliana

      i agree :/

    • Dianne

Jim, I have had Gold since RA started the program. I only pay pennies out of pocket each time I go just by “rolling ” my +UP Rewards only. They are my money after the first initial investment I make which is usually on a free item or a MMer item. Then I just roll within that money (as a budgeting tool) each time I shop there. I ONLY buy those things that are going to be free or very very cheap to keep my Rewards active. Occasionally, I will BURN some on items that are not ever free like my hubby’s CoQ10 but only with a deal and a coupon making the best use of my +UP Rewards. They go up and they go down some but I take advantage of every MMer to increase them each time, that increases my buying power. Through February just going once a week because where I am in the winter it is a 60 mile round trip and I have over 300 points already, easy peasy and every year I get a free blood test reward at 500 points which also saves me money because I just take that to the doctor and I’m good to go. It’s really a no brainer for me.

      • Delia

I wish I could “LIKE” this post! I roll their rewards too & based on what you described, my RA strategy is just like yours so we get killer deals on all kinds of items. Plus unlike Wags, where you can’t roll rewards, you can at RA so that really helps!

      • AG

Exactly what I do. It’s actually very easy to achieve Gold status at RA. I’ve already got 500 points for the year, and I’ve spent only a few dollars (mostly tax).

    • terri

I agree with Dianne…you don’t spend anything out of pocket really, you use their video values, their in store coupons, mfg coupons, you get ups and roll it all back…you pay nothing and you get to gold very easily. I don’t take any medications so I don’t even get credit for those and I hit it every year.

      • mel

Jim, this is my first year with gold. I decided to drop Walgreens, if was beginning to be a pain, so I picked up RA to shop, along with CVs. Like others, I roll my rewards each week for a low OOP. The great thing about Rite Aid is that the total BEFORE coupons is what counts towards your reward status! So let’s say I’m buying $20 in stuff, even if I pay $0 after Ups & coupons, the total of $20 counts. I don’t get RXs filled at RA either, yet I was at Gold by September of last year. So far, 2 months in and I’m already over 300 pts.

    • skippingwalmart

skip walmart. I did gold 4 times last year, just one loyalty card though

    • lyn96

Last year around the Fall they ran a promo were you received something crazy like triple points/amounts on everything you bought. I went from bronze to gold in less than a month.

  3. renee

I think Rite Aid is high priced, so I only shop there to get the deals Collin posts for products I use. I easily obtain gold level every year.

    • jim beam

i read online somewhere that if a rite aid digital coupon doesn’t contain a mailing address in the ‘more information’ portion of the coupon that it can be used in conjunction with a paper manufacturer coupon (not the ones contained in the circulars). i would imagine you would be able to shed some light on this renee…maybe use your shiny gold membership to illuminate the truth for me 😉

      • Renee

Sorry jim 🙁 I don’t know anything about that. I always thought you could not combine them.

      • meg

        What’s with the attitude? SMH

        • Renee

No clue what you are talking about Meg!!! Jim asked me a question and I answered it. No attitude in my post. I’m not sure what you’re reading into it.

          • meg

I was refering to him not you……I commented to him.

            • Renee

Oops! Sorry! I think he’s just kidding around.

I wanted to ask if the limit is actually 2 or 1. Usually when they are offered like this Buy 2 get $5 +UP Reward thinking I could get 4 to max out the limit. But they only had 2 on the shelf when I went on Monday, when I looked at my receipt later, it said “Limit Reached” so it in my eyes is a limit 1? Is that correct and it should say $5 +UP wyb 2 (limit 1)? I had planned to go back after they got their truck on Friday but it is a 60 mile round trip to the only RA around where I am in the winter… Thanks

    • Kim

If it says limit for your card reached I would not go. Your limit has been reached. You can argue with the cashier or customer service but it wont get you the discount that day. Unless you have other shopping to do $5 is in most cars with the current average gas price 60 miles is about $9 in gas. Even in my prius with our $2.10 gas price its still about $4 due to the winter bringing down my MPG so I would only be saving less than $1.

      • Dianne

Yes, exactly the way I think, unless it is enough to “cover” my gas, I don’t go. I was just wondering if anybody actually bought 4 of this or just stopped at the 2 for the 1-$5 +UP Reward. Guess the way it is sounding, everybody only bought 2. Thanks everybody…

    • Denice

Did you buy the Jergens or curel as well? They are part of the same promo.

      • Dianne

        I only bought 2 of the Jergen’s 12.5 Bonus size. Nothing else…

  5. L

I actually get a gallon of milk there for $2.79 which is cheaper than my grocery store price for the exact same brand of $4.99. We always get bottled water since we have a well and usually don’t pay over $1.79 for a 24 pack. I actually got Nestle water for $1.50 a pack last month. I also get pretty much free or MM stuff with Glade products, detergents, etc.

  6. karen

off the subject but hoping you hippers can help. bought the advil for the free mail-in-rebate and the for I printed at home says “no photocopies.” has anyone been able to check to see if we can, in fact, use the printed form? thx in advance.

    • jim beam

yes. the printed form is available on their website. legit

    • rebaterules

think on photocopies vs printer printed rebate (this is not a photocopy). most likely they mean no photocopies of the receipts nor no filling in the form then sending in a photocopy of it and keeping the original. people do weird things sometimes with these rebates trying to send in multiples on one purchase etc etc

    • shopper

The form off their website, that gets printed, is the original. When copied the text/lines/handwriting etc change a bit from what’s printed and actually handwritten in.

  7. Judy Trac

  9. Madiha

  10. Mary
