If you’re not using Swagbucks, you are missing out on an opportunity to earn Amazon gift cards and more. Want some proof? Check out this email from reader, Sherry…

Over the years of visiting your site, I wondered what in the world was Swagbucks and how can they pay you in gift cards for doing so little. Well, last year I finally decided to see what the fuss was about & was floored at how easy it was to earn gift cards (kicking myself for not starting earlier!) The photo above is just a FEW things I’ve used the Amazon cards for in addition to many other items for my household. As a SAHM it is so nice to be able to contribute to the household “financially” & I have no feelings of guilt if I want to get something new, utilize the deals you post or try a new product. Thank you for continuing to highlight it and I recommend it to my fellow skeptics!

And through June 7th, you can get even more SwagBucks when you invite a friend to join! Just refer someone to Swagbucks between now and the 7th and when your referral earns 300 SwagBucks by the end of June, You AND your referral will both get 300 SwagBucks each! The 300 SwagBuck Bonus will be credited to all eligible members on July 10th. Check out all the details here and then click on “Refer Friends” at the top of the screen to get started!

I earn $200 a month with the mobee app in amazon. $50 from amazon mechanical turk surveys and $20-$30 from swagbucks.

    • Kimberly

Where do you live to earn that much with Mobee?

  2. Hilary

I was just talking to my husband about this last night as I am a SAHM too 🙂 We got three packages yesterday and I paid NOTHING for all of them – 2 from Amazon where I used my Swagbucks points to get Amazon Gift Cards and 1 from Sears where I used my FitStudio points for free clothes for my toddler! Thank you, Collin, for letting us know about so many great ways to save money and get things for free!!!

    • Lisa

      What is fitstudio?

  3. Denise G.

I absolutely love Swagbucks! I’ve made well over $400 since joining late last year. Are we allowed to post our referall link?

    If so, mine is

    http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Dean923

Or simply enter Dean923 in the referall box at sign up.

      • Stephanie

        Used yours Beth!

      • Denise G.

Thanks Beth! I hope you enjoy it. My tips would be to download the apps and play videos as you do other things – even while sleeping. Also try for a few surveys each day. Sometimes they are hit and miss, but lately I’ve been having good luck with them. You can sign up to get bonus codes each day at sc-s.com

Love it too use it every year for my Christmas shopping this year I hope to have $75 in amazon giftcards, not a lot but every bit helps and I don’t do much on swagbucks except search engine and the occasional purchase through them. Please considering using my refer link I have no referrals as yet, stay at home mum 🙂 http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/tranch

    • Diane

      Tam,
There are so many ways to earn more Swagbucks. You could add the Daily Poll for 1 point, NOSO for 2 points and play the games for 10 points daily. Just adding these would give you over $50.00 more per year. Also under the Discover tab is one called coupons. For each coupon that you print and is redeemed you will receive 10 Swagbucks. If you decide you don’t need some of your coupons you can leave them by the item in the store for others to redeem and you still get the Swagbucks.

Swagbucks changed their monthly discounted gift cards a few months ago from five $5.00 Amazon gift cards to any one $25.00 gift card except for Paypal and gas cards.

      • tam childers

Thanks for the suggestions I will try doing the extra things you mentioned, I appreciate the advise.

        • Diane

          Tam,
If you have a smartphone or a tablet you can download SBTV mobile for an extra 36sb per day. I usually just check on it a couple of times. There are several other apps as well but SBTV is the fastest. The Daily Poll and NOSO are on the left side of the home page. For the NOSO just scroll to the bottom of each page an click MORE DEALS and it goes to the next page. You will find the games under PLAY at the top of the home page in the blue bar. I like the Swag Jump game. I am a terrible game player and I find this one easy to do. You get 2sb for every 2 games you play up to 10sb per day. I hope this Christmas will be awesome for you.

          • Lisa

How do the games work? Do you earn points for playing any of the games?

            • Diane

              Lisa,
Yes you get 2 Swagbucks for every 2 games limit 10sb per day. I like SwagJump. It only takes a minute or so pre game and while it resets for the next round I will usually do Swagbucks TV under WATCH on the blue header. I am terrible at computer games and this one I can do. With SwagJump you click just above the falling symbols when it is above the figure. The figure then jumps and if it hits any symbol you can direct it toward more symbols and the figure moves up the screen . When the figure falls your game is over and it resets. There are many games but I stick with this one.

I’ve been doing Swagbucks for a year and it’s a easy way to earn some extra cash. I would love if someone would you my link — I don’t have any referrals yet. Thanks!

  6. Sarah

What are you all doing to earn swagbucks? I joined and gave it a try for a bit, but really did not earn hardly any so I haven’t done stuck with it.

    • nanci

I watch videos, use the search engine and encrave all at the aame time to earn swagbucks fast also print out cps through swagbucks.

      • Mel

I click the tab that says “Discover” and scroll down to “Encrave”. There’s a bunch of boxes, click one and do the activity. It might be flipping through tabs or links or watching a video or 2. After the first manual encrave, should open up a bunch more boxes with a circle in the bottom left corner. Click any box and when it opens, make sure to click the X to turn on “discover” mode. That will auto-run the videos. They range from 1 to 6 SB. Usually the ones with 30 videos are 6SB and they take at least 15 minutes to run. This way I can do stuff around the house, w/out being glued to the computer chair! As soon as it completes the activity and I get the points I start a new auto-run. I try to make my 1st daily goal, as you get bonus points for meeting it PLUS if you make the weekly goals, even more bonus points!
        7 Days = 25 SB
        14 Days = 100 SB
        21 Days = 200 SB
Complete the month = 300 SB

May, I got 323 daily bonus SB + 300 for completing the month = 623 Bonus SB! That’s more than enough for a $5 GC.

I alternate cashing points either getting a $10 CVS GC or $10 Target GC. This month, I saved my SB and cashed out for a $50 Paypal deposit (for vacation funds) and a $10 Panara Bread GC.

If I feel like it, I’ll attempt a survey or 2. I’ve been lucky this wk, I’ve qualified for several that I made my goal quickly.

Oh, and there are also some phone apps that auto-run videos. I only have SBTV on my ipad, I can’t get the others. But it’s a quick 36 on days I don’t have time to hang on the computer.

        • Cassandra

Thanks a lot Mel! I am also a SAHM but I work from home too, so having these videos on in the background sounds like a great start. 🙂

        • Sarah

Thanks for the tips! I will give it another try.

    • Laura

Download the apps. I have 4 on my iPad and 2 on my android. I make $60 a month no problem

  7. Sarah K

    how does swagbucks work?

    • Teresa

You can earn Swagbucks from searching the internet and doing surveys. There are also a lot of other ways to earn, but that’s what I do. You can redeem your Swagbucks for gift cards or Paypal. It has come in very handy for me since I became a SAHM. Here’s my link if you are interested in joining: https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/SophiasMom

  8. Kat

Below is my link if anyone would like to use it. I stay at home and homeschool our children. I use this website regularly and it helps me contribute to our income. It would be a wonderful blessing to earn some extra Swagbucks! Thank you for taking the time to read this comment.

Plus it’s my 41st Birthday today so extra points would be even sweeter! Thanks again!

  9. Melissa

I’ve been using SwagBucks for years, but don’t have any active referrals. I earn the most by using it as my search engine and watching videos on the video app. I’d love to have a referral. Here’s my link:

    http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/phx02008

  10. Crysal H

I earn enough every year to purchaseall 3 of my kids Christmas presents. I do surveys and let the swagbucks TV app play on my phone on silent each day…..I love swagbucks! http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/hdlstn

    • Sarah C

Does the tv app use data? I’ve had swagbucks since they started but can’t seem to get in a habit of using it!!

      • Laura

Yes the apps use data – if you have your data on. Switch to wifi.

  11. Annabelle

is swagbucks better than Ebates? That’s what I currently use.

    • Diane

      Annabelle,
Ebates is completely different. You can continue to use Ebates and still earn Swagbucks. You earn Swagbucks from watching videos, searching, printing coupons and redeeming them, a Daily 1 question poll, up to 10 Swagbucks per day to play games. I never played any video games and I can to this. I have several windows open at once and just toggle between them. Since I am older I don’t qualify for most surveys so I never do them.
You can also earn Swagbucks when you make purchases from many retailers. I would check both Ebates and Swagbucks to see which one will give you more back.
I hope I have answered your questions.

  12. Vicki

I’ve been using Swagbucks for 2 years but have never gotten any referrals (I don’t feel right bugging friends/family) but since everyone here is asking, I suppose I won’t feel guilty asking, too. 🙂 So if anyone wants to use my link, I’d really appreciate it: http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/clumsythestral Thank you so much if you use it!

  13. jan

I use swagbucks shop and earn when making larger purchases even from Walmart or Target and just pickup in store. You earn points and get what you were going to buy anyways. I usually buy diapers with my amazon gift cards.

  14. melissa

How much is 300 Swagbucks worth? At how many Swagbucks can you earn gift cards /paypal cash?

    • Sona

      Hi Melissa ,
      300 SB is worth 3$
The minimum u need to redeem for a GC is 300 SB and if u are able to accumulate 2200sb u can redeem them for a 25$ GC of ur choice once a month..if I are able to do surveys it’s super easy to earn. It’s been a year I very joined and I have earned around 800$. I just meet my daily goals..

Pls use my referral if u can as I don’t have any referrals yet,,thanks
      swagbucks.com/refer/spinachyogurt

    • Diane

      Melissa,
Sonia is right you can redeem 2200sb for 1 $25.00 per month except for gas and Paypal gift cards these are always 2500sb for a $25.00 gift card. All other gift cards redeemed for that month are at regular price. I struggled to set up Paypal to work thru Swagbucks. My adult daughter had to help me. Once I finally got it to work it has been great.

    • jes

about $3. depending on which GC you get. amazon has a card that small. but paypal starts at $25 for 2500sb points. do the ngage and dl the apps (sbtv, entertainnow etc.) points add up easily!
      (just in case 😉 – http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/srmama2008 )

  15. jes

swagbucks is great! a penny a point, give or take. since joining last year i paid for a lot of xmas and bday presents with my SB points! i love the sbtv app on the phone (and the others) let it go run for a while and you earn the point effortlessly! try it, it is totally worth it! http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/srmama2008

  16. Vicki

I have been using swagbucks for the last 3 or four years. As a SAHM, I too love to be able to contribute to the household financially. I usually use my earnings for the “extras,” and good deals on Amazon. The last two years I have saved most of my earnings for Xmas, to buy nice toys & gift cards for my daughter & many nieces & nephews. This year after my husband’s car accident we have been in a pinch; so my money went for a small weekend getaway, to pay for tickets to the SeaLife Aquarium/ Lego Discovery Center. I am so grateful Collin for all your deal postings, and helping us save money! Thank You! –I have no swagbucks referrals; and would love it if someone used my link. TIA!

    • Lindsey

I’m also a SAHM – so sorry to hear about your husband’s accident and hope things are looking up for your family! I used your link Vicki! ; ) Here’s mine for the next person, and thanks in advance!: https://www.swagbucks.com/p/register?rb=15513850

      • Vicki M

Thank you so much Lindsey! Thanks for using my link, I really appreciate it! And things are starting to look up. Bless you, and have a great summer!

  17. Laura

Doing the math, swagbucks really isn’t worth it compared to having any sort of real job. Even working 3-10 hours a week at minimum wage will earn way more.

Even with the passive apps, you have to babysit them so much that it’s hardly worth it.

I liked it when I was a kid and earning $5 a week was the best, but now I’d encourage people to look into other methods of earning income. The company itself is making far more from your time than you are. Just my opinion though.

    • Miranda

True that you could earn more working at a REAL job, but I’m a SAHM and cannot work outside the home. Every little bit helps.

      • meg

i agree every little bit helps…but you do have a “real” job. One of the hardest in the world. Nothing better 🙂

        • Miranda

Yes Meg! It’s a wonderful job!

    • Jamie

My “real” job is being a SAHM and this is just something extra I like to do WHILE I’m home already. Every little bit adds up, I don’t need to do it, I do it for the same reasons I coupon and look for good deals– to save money and have fun staying home with my daughter.

    • Cassandra

      As if being a parent isn’t a real job….smh.

    • Delaney

I’m not using it so was wondering how company is making money and how much time (which is more expensive commodity ) these moms are giving so that they earned $100 a month?

It may not be possible for few mom to go out of house and work that’s why they like it but for me my baby comes and sits on keyboard as soon as I open my laptop :p

      • Diane

        Delaney,
Swagbucks get paid by advertisers just like all the other search engines do. Swag bucks gives a small portion to its members. With swagbucks you have several choices on how you earn swagbucks. There are at least 4 apps for phones that you can run. They take very little of your time and don’t cost you anything as long as you have a phone plan that runs free on wifi or you have unlimited data. I personally have a $25.00 month phone plan that has free wifi use and unlimited data. I have 4 swagbucks apps and run 2 of them every day and the other 2 when I need help reaching my daily goal. Swagbucks give you bonus bucks if you make your goal. They also have a stretch goal which I don’t usually try to make.

    • Mel

This isn’t a get rich sort of thing, and should not be compared to a job. Its pennies to the point earned. I’m a SAHM, so I do enough to earn a $10 GC here & there as it helps stretch my already thin income.

    • Laura

      Laura, my son works 50
Hours a week and makes any where from $40-$50 a month running apps

    • mumm

I suppose I understand your point. But for some people myself included paying for daycare or a home health care worker actually costs more when you factor in everything.Gas, clothes, paying for the worker. This looks like a way to just stretch the dollars I’m both a sahm and my husband has a very serious chronic illness that will require more and more care unless they find a cure. I’m enjoying the time I have with him instead of paying someone else to be here while I go out to earn enough to pay the person here. Anyway enough of that. I would greatly appreciate it if someone would use mine. https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/lyn96 TIA

  18. Regina

Love Swagbucks. I have been using them for years and pretty much do my searches and use the coupons and earn one gift card a month. I know it is not as extreme as some, but I do work full time and have an infant so it is nice extra money to spend on myself without feeling ‘guilty’. Please consider using my link http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/ginagina24

    • audrey

I used yours Charity. I”m a nurse and I know how hard nursing school can be. Us nurses got to stick together! 😉

  19. anna

I’ve used Swagbucks for many years usually to get amazon gc. I get everything from books for grad school to shower curtain liners to clothes. I work in the human services field so my salary isn’t what it would be if i worked in the private sector. I too can use every penny of help I can get
    https://www.swagbucks.com/refer/SplitRaindrop

  20. LeeCang

Bjursta the apps alone pay $1.18 (aka 118 Swagbucks) a day (passive Swagbucks) not including the polls and surveys. My husband does all the apps which I get .11c back as I reffered him. IM a stay at home mom and only do surveys at nap. I make 300+ swags daily and with little effort. Two people can have accounts per household, more then that and they ask that others have some sort of identification. There is an easy guide if you google “reddit, swagbucks guide for bigginer” which makes it a breeze and easier to make your money. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

  21. Crystal Sweet

I saw Swagbucks here on Hip2Save a little over a year ago, and have been on Swagbucks every day since! In just 14 months I have made exactly $678 and have cashed it out for Paypal, Walmart, Target, and Amazon gift cards. Paypal is my preference for cashing out, because who couldn’t use more cold hard cash? I love paying my electric or water bill with my Swagbucks Paypal money. It feels so good to have that extra cash coming into our household. I would love for you to join me! My referral link is below.

    Some suggestions for easy points-
Check your Inbox (icon on top right of your screen). They often have 2 point activities that are easy.
    Check sbcodez.com- they publish swagcodes.

  24. Sam

I love using Swagbucks! The easiest way to do it s set it as you home page and use it instead of Google or a different search engine. I’ve gained $5 Amazon cards by just doing that. Go Hip2Save!!
