    Hi All,

For anyone looking for feedback on fitbits:
So I have the fitbit charge (got it at xmas) and I thought I would share some things my family and I noticed)
    1) my brother’s fit bit charge completely broke in half, Fitbit replaced it, but they asked when he purchased it and for proof (so keep your receipt)
    2) my sister in law’s fit bit charge had the button fall off (so she can’t see her step read out on the fitbit, just through her phone)- FitBit is replacing it but in a different color, and they implied that if she waited any longer to contact them they would not replace it due to timing (at this point they are nearly 7 months old).
    3) my fitbit charge is starting to break in half
    4) my sister in law and brother both had skin irritation issues, and her mom did as well

So I like fitbit because I like tracking my steps. Thus far their customer service seems awesome. My family is 3/5 of having Fitbits break to the point of absolutely needing replaced.

I do not have the charge HR, but I have heard mixed reviews on their accuracy. Fitbit charge does awful at measuring when you run (to the tune of underestimating distances 50% for my brother), it really is for walking only. If you cook a lot, stirring will mess up your # of steps (it counts whipping batter by hand as steps)- so it isn’t perfect, but I’m happy.

If you wear it on your non dominant hand, you don’t have to worry about stirring counting as steps.

        Great point!!

So which do yall recommend? Will not be using for running.

  3. Megan

Thank you! I am so tired of running with my phone and this will be really nice to have. I will make sure to keep my receipt. 🙂 Thanks!

I got one for mother’s day. I don’t really track anything online, I just like to see the steps I take every day. I find that knowing that number makes me take more. The one thing that scares me EVERY single day is when it beeps at 10000 steps. It startles me since it feels like an electric shock. I actually watch it when I near 10,000 steps so I can prepared for it. I have had it for a month and it gets me daily!

Too funny! I’m borrowing the flex from my friend. The first time it did this scared the crap out of me!
So far I love the flex. Hoping she’ll sell it to me as she never used it. So then if /when it breaks – I won’t be out so much $
Since May 27 – I’ve lost 8 pounds. I link it to myfitnesspal and Walgreens(to earn points)
      It’s a great little babysitter

Thank you so much for all of the comments and advice. It is so nice to get feedback on an expensive purchase. I do have one question, it says size large, does that mean for a larger wrist, or is this for a man?

    • Bobbie

I just looked online and a small is wrist size 5.5-6.9″. A large is 6.3-8.2″.

    • Lori

The small JUST fit me. I like the large as I can adjust it. You’re not supposed to wear it super tight.

    • Carrie

Super! That helps a lot. Thank you so much

Can you get a different size?

  7. Emily

Just an FYI for everyone, I was going to purchase this for my husband but I spoke with Fitbit and “Warranty does not apply to Fitbit products which were purchased from retailers which are not authorized.” So, if you purchase this from the ebay seller, you probably won’t be able to get it replaced if something happens to it.

I have the Fitbit Charge HR and I absolutely love it! I’ve had mine since March and have had no problems with it. I wear mine all of time, with the exception of swimming and showering. It’s a great little motivator and way to be more accountable with how active you are.

I love the HR. I actually lost mine by my own negligence and Fitbit replaced it. Now that is some great customer service!

I bought my Fitbit from kohls for $57. My friend works with delta got it for $38 under employer promo.
It’s been 3 months and I love it!

I bought a Charge HR off Amazon and it won’t sync to my Galaxy S5 at all on the app 🙁 Any advice?

    • Lori

Do you have your Bluetooth on?

      • S

Hi Lori, yes but it still doesn’t recognize the device. When I first turned on the Fitbit, I didn’t sync with my app yet and so I never got to see that beginning screen again. Now it won’t sync and I have no idea how to reset it either.

        • Laura

S – sorry. I have no idea. Hoping Fitbit can help out

I’ve had 3 ChargeHR devices and had the same issues with each one. Out of nowhere, the screen will go out on it, making it look like the unit is dead. The only way to “bring it back to life” is to take it off and plug it in to the charger – not always the most convenient thing to do when you’re in the midst of a run or a hike! I spent tons of time trying to sort it out with Fitbit’s customer service to no avail. Very frustrating.
