KIVA.org: FREE $25 Credit to Help Fight Poverty and Change Lives (Awesome Way to Give Back!)

Here’s an awesome way to give back and to help fight poverty all over the world without having to spend anything out of pocket. Kiva.org lets you connect with and loan money to unique small businesses all over the world enabling you to essentially “sponsor a business” and help the world’s working poor gain economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you’ll receive email updates from the borrower you’ve sponsored; and as loans are repaid, you get your loan money back and can then choose to fund another business. So cool! 😀

BUT here’s the best part! For a limited time, you can register for Kiva.org through this link (yes, this is my referral link) and you’ll snag a FREE $25 credit meaning you’ll be able to make your very first loan on Kiva for FREE (no credit card info required)! Plus, once you sign up, you can refer friends and family so they’ll earn a FREE $25 credit and you’ll also earn a FREE $25 credit each time someone registers through your referral link (so feel free to share your links in the comment section below).

This is a great organization. I donated money for a loan about 2 years ago. Soon after, the individual who received my loan paid the money back which allowed me to re-lend the same amount to another individual. It is very rewarding to see how your loan can drastically change someone’s life!

Thank you for introducing this to me, Collin! I think it’s great! I have been following Humans of New York on Facebook (I highly recommend it if you haven’t looked at the page yet!) and they are featuring pictures and stories from people in other countries this summer. It is really eye opening to see the need out there, and this seems like a great and simple way to help those in need of assistance.

Sweet! I’ve made 23 loans over 3 yrs with Kiva. I joined the lending team “Women Empowering Women” whose mission statement is: Empower a woman, change the world. https://www.kiva.org/team/women_empowering_women
It’s so cool to be able to make a difference by giving a hand UP rather than a hand OUT. Don’t get me wrong, I also make donations to a number of causes. Love that these loans help people help themselves – an empowering, sustainable solution.

I love kIva! I have been loaning for a few years now. I love how when people pay back their loan, you get to reloan the money. It allows that $25 to go sooo far! Thanks for sharing this, Collin!!
