There was a deal for this several months back and we got it! It ended up being a “free” membership with all the perks. While BJs and Costco are my favorites, there are some great things at Sam’s Club that you can’t find elsewhere (like their yummy Kimberley’s Granola!!)

  2. Jessica

Just curious, but what kind of items do people buy at Sam’s? Other than cakes and rotisserie chicken, I can’t think of anything. Any suggestions?

    • Hunterwoody

Now that I have started couponing, I can usually beat any price at SAMs. So, we pay for a member ship, but never use it. My husband doesn’t want to let it go.

    • P

For me their milk is cheap. But now we have a kwik trip and their milk is even cheaper. Their generic medications are pretty cheap too. I’m not sure if it’s worth paying full price for a membership though.

      • Happymama

I couldn’t believe how expensive milk was in New England when we were on vacation. It would definitely would be worth getting this deal if you live in a high milk area. Also, our Sams doesn’t have a gas station, but if yours does, it’d be worth it for the gas discount.

    • Rachel

I buy my toilet paper, paper towel, laundry soap and bottled water. Idk if it’s a deal but it last me a long time.

      • Janey

I buy organic milk, toilet paper, eggs, laundry soap there. Some of the stuffs there are really cheap comparing to other places.

    • brendaw

Bread, lunch chips, chicken (breasts & whole), lunchmeat, cheese, eggs (when the price was decent before the chicken flu), butter is usu around $2/lb for 4#), mixed greens salad & other fresh veggies, bacon, ice cream, coffee syrup and coffee, spices, and we always check out the hard goods — we’ve gotten a komodo grill for around $150, jeans for under $20, shoes, socks, dishes, holiday gift boxes, printer ink….

    • Susie

Milk, eggs, orange juice, chicken breast, pork loin, 90/10 ground beef, Sam’s brand toilet paper, trash bags, cheeses, cascade, surf, some housewares, etc.. Also the plus membership has extra instant savings not available with the regular membership on items you normally buy such as $3 off a package of chicken breast that are already only 99 cents a pound everyday as well as the instant savings available to all memberships.

    • eyez1998

Jessica i buy, bath bar soap, water, juice, tea, energy drinks, bread, chips, hot dogs, paper towels, creamer

    • Kristy

I like getting my pictures printed there. It is so cheap compared to other stores!

    • Asmith

Gas in my area and we regularly passby

    • holi

I have Costco & have had sams in the past. I think I buy just as much odd items as I do food, maybe more. Clothes, lawn items, movies, batteries, laundry stuff, plants/trees, eyeglass cleaners, snacks. I will probably do this deal just so I can get into sams again using the bonus!

    • Anna

      Meat, prescriptions, electronics

    • Gina

  4. Luv

Can someone please explain what exactly is living social? I am new to it.thank you 🙂

    • P

      Similar to groupon

    • Jess

It is similar to Groupon where you can purchase a voucher at a discount and redeem it in person or sometimes online. If you use my referral link, you can score a $10 credit to use for your first purchase and I get the same so I say win-win!
      https://r.livingsoci.al/oe8hub9/04

      • Luv

Does The SAMs club membership primary member have to be the same as the living social account holder?
I think we just renewed our membership(regular) last month that I split with my sister but want to upgrade this plus, do they prorate membership fee?
        Thanks for any advice.

        • Just Me

I’d say no since you can buy it as a gift. The problem is if you purchased this and used the primary persons name on the voucher. The secondary person would need to be named on the voucher since their SAMs membership doesn’t really count.

          • Gina

Just learned the hardway,,, You cant gift this voucher 🙁 My info is on it and I wanted to give it to my MOM since I just ended my membership with them I wont qualify, Looks like I am out the $35.00 SMH

            • Bunny

Gina, call Living Social and explain your situation to them. They will probably give you a refund (or at least a credit).

            • Gina

Thank You, I just got off the phone with them, The representative was great. Since it was my first purchase she allowed me to make a change. NOTE: She did say the last name could not be changed however I still share the same last name with my Mommy so that wasn’t an issue. 🙂 Was really feeling bummed with this deal, but now am happy! Her birthday is Friday!!!

            • Bunny

Yay Gina! So glad you were able to make a change on your Living Social deal. Good job 🙂

            • Janey

I used my husband’s account, but the voucher showed my name on it…Don’t know what to do, I had a Sam’s membership just expired. I think they take the name from the credit card information but not the amount holder.

  5. Jacki

You could use someone’s referral code if your need a LivingSocial and get $10 off on this I believe.

  6. Lindsey

I have been holding out for a comparative Costco deal……does anyone think I will be able to score?

    • Jen

Even I am wondering the same. My membership to SAMs expired last month and I am not eligible for this

      • KetaCar

With the plus membership (& I think maybe regular one as well) you can add a family member/ get an extra card so with that being said, my SIL & I alternate who is the primary member on the card each year to get by the “can’t be an active member in the previous 6 months” part & then just add the other to the second card that way we both get to use it & just split the cost in half

        • chrissy

We do this with the regular card. My mil and I that one we both have a card and split the cost.

    • Happymama

I think so – I bought a Costco membership last September when Collin posted a living social deal like this.

    • P

A lot of times when Sam’s or Costco offer a deal like this the other one will offer a similar deal not long after.

  7. Lizzie

Great deal, but we are holding out for Costco.

    • sarah

Me too! I hope they offer one soon. I really need a membership.

  8. Lindsey

It ends up paying for itself with all the freebies, ebates and gift card…I just ended up buying one. And hopefully the Costco deal will show itself soon.

  9. Rac

Thanks! I have been waiting for a deal 🙂

  10. Lynn

Code doesn’t seem to work anymore

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Just removed the code from the post.

  11. Shelia

I just tried the promo code for 15% off and it says not available on this item. I’m holding out for a Costco deal since I can’t use the code.

  12. Clarissa

Anyone else have trouble when trying to redeem the promo code?

  13. zaira

Im wondering how they can tell if you had a membership before? Will I be able to get this if I have a different address now?

    • eyez1998

Zaira, you have to give them your id when you sign up and that’s how they will know. if you have someone else in your household that hasn’t had a membership, use them and add yourself as a family memeber

  14. Lacey

If you use Ibotta, they have a SAMs sections. Since they don’t accept coupons, it’s awesome to get cash back on some of the things I already purchase!

  15. Tiara

Can anyone tell me if Sam’s carries the big loaves of regular sized sliced UDI’S gluten free bread like Costco?

We’re much closer to a Sam’s. We currently are with Costco though.

    • Andrea

      Not at our store.

    • Vic

You can go online and select the store location close to you and look up their inventory

      • Tiara

I did that. Surely there are more gf products at Sam’s than what’s showing up.

  16. Sharlyn Froemds

IN the Phoenix area , Sam’s Club is so much better to shop at then Costco..cheaper on most items and more locations..gas
    prices are great too..

  17. Jennifer

  18. Ashlyn

My membership just ended, and my husband was an add on my account, but not the primary. Do you think if he was the primary on the new account he would be considered a “new” member?

    • sarah

I’d like to know as well

  19. boo

hey, if my husband was the primary and i was the add on can i buy this and be the primary with him as the add on?
thanks so much for any help

  20. Gilly

Not a kosher deal. Maybe Costco is more aware of the need for certain communities.

  21. Lacey

    I’m waiting for Costco deal

  28. samantha

hi all I just purchased this deal by clicking on brandi’s link first, before I logged in and then I was able to use LSNEW15. I think the trick is to sign up with a new email rather than signing in to your regular account.
Since I began couponing I have a ton of trash emails that I create to get a great deal but don’t check frequently. I hate to say it but in nursing school I became a starbucks addict ; ) when the groupon came up for the 50% off gift cards Im pretty sure I created 4 emails…
also I have shopped at Costco and sams club. We bought the discount SC membership last year to buy a BBQ that was $150 cheaper there than OSH. You cant beat Costco in Quality, but sam’s club has more selection and a lot of industrial kitchen and cleaning stuff that is a great deal.
If you are feeling generous here’s my link

  32. Christen

    • Gina
