Does anyone have experience returning an item purchased at full cost in order to re-purchase the item using a Cartwheel offer? I would imagine Target wouldn’t allow this, but I can’t find any rule prohibiting it.

    • juliana

they allow a 3 day grace period and they will refund the difference. if it goes past the 3 days, [which happened to me] they allowed me to return the item and buy it back using the cartwheel. location policies may very…goodluck 🙂

    • Kmerkle

I’ve had great experiences in store at customer service with price adjustments. I’ve been told to return within 24 hours for easiest refund.

    • Amanda

I just did that this morning. Returned 4 bags and repurchased with the better cartwheel. No problems 🙂

  2. Laura

There’s also a 40% for sweeTarts skulls & bones on the 12oz bag it’s only $2.99. I received a catalina after purchasing other candy for $1.50/2 on those ($1.04 a bag!).

    • Christine P.

I got that same Catalina after buying two large nestle bags. Went immediately to customer service with the receipt and coupon and they handed me the $1.50.

  3. Stacy

Do it all the time. I return then tell them I will rebuy due to a Q.

  4. Vivian

What do you think of the candy deal people? Should I hold out for closer to Halloween or is this about as good as it gets? I’m gonna need to fill a piñata for my sons bday 1 week before too. Thanks for your help!

    • susan

This is probably as good as it gets…until after Halloween when the candy goes on clearance. I would buy now.

    • Erin

I wouldn’t. I found bags of individually wrapped Starburst, Twizzlers, and Jolly Ranchers at my grocery store for $1 per bag–no coupons or anything. Hmmm. Guess I really should have checked for coupons.

    • Vivian

Alright I bought a couple bags… Anyone already eat 6 snickers like I did lol… This was a bad idea 😉

  5. Michelle

Can you use the cartwheel on candy more than once? We pass out a lot of candy between our neighborhood, church, and camping. Went at lunch today but thinking about a round 2 after work.

    • Danielle

Hi Michelle, we are in MI and are doing a State Park Camping Halloween Trick or Treating trip for the first time. How do you estimate how much to bring? Do you have an estimate per the number of sites in the park? I am lost! TIA!

      • Michelle

Hi Danielle- to be honest this is my first time camping. I imagine we will need about 300 pieces. Whatever I don’t hand out can be saved for home or church. I imagine a state park will be pretty busy. Hth. 😊

    • Amanda

You can do 4 bags of each deal per transaction and then do separate transactions with 4 more for I believe 6 transactions per day

      • Michelle

        Thank you!!

    • Angela

You can use your cartwheel up to 6 times a day

  6. TinaLobs

This is a great deal i bought 4 bags of m&m’s and 4 big bags of candy, and a Tiger mask. It was hard to tell which candies were on sale but used my cartwheel app to scan and check for offers!

    • Becky W.

I didn’t know you could do that! That would have saved me returning a bag that didn’t qualify.

  7. Elaine

Yay! I just picked out my son’s costume yesterday and was considering whether or not to hold out for a sale 🙂

  8. Katie

I just got back from Target and I saved A LOT! My bill before my cartwheel was $101; after my cartwheel, $64 minus my 5% with my Target red card, about $61. Awesome Deal! Thank you so much Collin. I am ready for Halloween. I bought my kids’ costumes and candy today. I’m so excited. Candy does NOT go on sale like this even after Halloween. Target usually does 30% off. You might find a few stores with good prices but this was a GREAT DEAL. Thank you so much Hip2save!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

What an awesome score Katie! You are so welcome!! 😀

    • Megan

FYI, It DOES go on sale like this after Halloween when it’s clearances, as with all target holiday items. It will go 30%, then 50%, then 70%, then finally 90% for anything left. We buy target Halloween candy at 70-90% off each year after Halloween.

    • Megan

Oh I just remembered, candy actually only goes to 70% off clearance, not 90% like non-food Halloween items. So 70% off is the best you’ll find it post Halloween.

      • Sue

I think clearance depends on where you live. Here in Minnesota, quite often things are sold out before it’s even 30% off and candy never really goes more than 50% off before it’s gone.

    • HH

These were my totals exactly, before and after Cartwheel and RedCard. Lol! We must have been in each other’s brains:) Great deals today!

    • Ss

my Kroger in Tennessee always has candy free or 1 for big bags with coupons before Halloween

  9. michele

Just a thought…eBay is offering a $10 gift card to sell a costume on there. You could get a great deal at target and sell it in ebay and earn the gift card 🙂

  10. Roseann

Great deal on candy! I picked up 4 bags today and captain America costume!!!

    Thank you!

  11. Kim

Does anyone know if sams club or Costco is cheaper? Or if this is the best price for candy? None of them are close together and I only have about an hour between shifts not sure if I should run to target before they sell out.

    • Megan

I was at SAMs yesterday, and it was definitely not cheaper than this.

      • Kim

I just left sams and they have several that are cheaper per piece. Some cheaper by 2 cents a piece.just and fyi for anyone wondering.

  12. laura

I don’t have the $1 checkout 51 offer for the m&ms. Anyone else missing it?

    • Cathy

I do not have it listed either.

  13. Tricia

would I be able to order the costume online and use the cartwheel??- Sorry I’m kinda new at this!

    • juliana

to my knowledge…cartwheel is only for in-store purchases

    • Megan

Cartwheel is in store only unfortunately.

    • Janet

Some cw offers are online but this one in particular is in store. Hth!

  14. Laurie

I was just in Target yesterday and noticed some pumpkin crafts. Does anyone know if these would be on sale too!
    Thanks In Advance 😀

  15. Staci Schutte

I am working on making my daughter a dress-up trunk for her birthday. Any tips on getting a selection of dress-up things (like Halloween princess dresses) at the best price? How soon do they go on clearance or am I better off getting them before then so there are a few good things left? Thanks!

    • ashlynn.

Last year I did clearance to stock up for a dress up chest we are gifting this year. Stuff was going for like 60-70 percent by the 5th of nov the stores like to make room for Christmas merchandise. You might want to check thrift shops I scored disney dresses in the halloween stiff for $3 each. Wash them a couple time and it’s as good as new.

      • Jennine

Yes agree savers/goodwill, local chain kids second hand stores. Sign up for there emails and pounce on sale days 🙂 happy shopping.

        • Just Me

I love the volunteers of America ( goodwill different organization) during Halloween. Spotted 2 Elsa costumes for 2.99 or 1.99. Good condition too! I just didn’t need them.

    • Amanda

Last year after Halloween, I stocked up on Super Hero costumes and accessories at Walmart 1-2 weeks after Halloween. They were 90% off! My son loves dressing up as a Fireman, Thor, and Captain America. And I loved paying under $2 for each costume!

    • Raql

Walgreens – 90% off as cheap as $1.99 princess costumes

    • Erin

I got a huge selection of costumes at 90 percent last year, though only one Disney princess costume. A word of warning about the Disney Halloween costumes: they are glitter bombs! My entire house (floors, furniture) had a film of glitter every time the costume came out! The Halloween costumes also do not hold up as well as the non-Halloween “dress-up” princess dresses; they are almost what I’d consider disposable (fine at 90 percent off, except for that glitter!).

    • Ss

walmart always has real cheap after Halloween here in Tennessee where I live. That’s when my mom buys dress up for my kids related me do not celebrate Halloween.

    • Maite

Last year I was able to purchase post Halloween clearance costumes for $1 to $2 each. I have boys and I got them ninja turtles, but there were a lot of girl costumes! I would wait!

    • Elissa

I always buy costumes on clearance after Halloween. Usually about 2-3 weeks after Halloween they’re at 70% off.. Depends on your store though.

  16. Cassandane

Check prices on the M&Ms. My store had the Halloween/fall bags priced at $3.19, but the regular bags are $2.69 (found in the candy aisle). I had a handful of $1/2 printables from a few weeks ago.
The Cartwheel worked for all varieties of M&M’s, but only the Halloween Dove eyeballs were eligible. Happy shopping!

  17. Brooke

Hi! There were lists of Mfc peelies for $1/2 Mars bags… And $1/2 target qs for the Mars bags. Add that will the cartwheel and I saved a bunch today!

  18. Molly

Must…resist…the…urge…to…buy…candy…month…before…Halloween!!! Good luck to everyone else! I admire your willpower 🙂

    • Cassandane

I stock up on M&M and other candies I can use in baking. Will be all set (on the cheap!) for holiday baking. No one has yet caught on why I volunteer to make all the M&M cookies for Christmas gifts 😉

    • MiisNoel

I’m with you! It’s such a great deal on the Fall/Holiday M&M’s, especially for baking all the yummy treats, but I.will.eat.ALL.the.candy!!! So, I am avoiding Target today!

  19. Mary

I bought my grandchildren their Halloween costumes today. I also bought lots of candy. I saved $44.40 on cartwheels. Thank you so much Collin:)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome! 🙂

  20. Kristie

Thanks so much! My son told me last week he wants to be batman despite the spider man and hulk costumes I got on clearance last year. I told him I was waiting for a coupon! I was able to get batman for him and captain America for my younger son!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

  21. GAmommy

Ok so you can do multiple candy transactions. What about costumes? Can you go back and buy 2 more in a second transaction?

    • Just Me

Yes. Cartwheel usually gives 6 transactions per day

  22. Jsturner1

Found $1 off 2 peelies target coupon on the Halloween m and ms. Plus had $1 off 2 Dove bags from a box of m and m ice cream bars. Sadly no checkout 51 for me either.

  23. sherry

Thanks Collin I would’ve never known about these cartwheels I’d it wasn’t for you. Picked up a Princess Leia toddler costume and 2 giant bags of candy for $16.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay! YW! 🙂

  24. Rebecca

Anyone see Power Ranger costumes at their Target? Big boys and toddler sizes. I haven’t been in for a while, and just remember them not having much last year. Thanks!

    • michelle l

I found 3 diff color power ranger costumes at Walmart yesterday for $15 each. Was only 1 red one in my son’s size so i snagged it quickly!

  25. celeste

Can you use the cartwheel deals with target coupons and manufacturer coupons?

    • Heatherr

yes. target coupon comes off the price first, then cartwheel, then lastly manufacturer coupon.

  26. jessica

You may want to check ross if you have one nearby, they always have inexpensive costumes before Halloween, I bought a batman one for my son, including mask was 8.99 originally $20

  27. Mari

Coming from a single mom of two, thank you SO much for posting the 40%off kids costumes. I got my 3 yr ild the Anna costume since she is obsessed. It was originally $20, I got it for $12. Had I not seen this, I may have not been able to get my daughter what she really wanted. We really just don’t have the $. Now if I can find a 12 month olaf costume for the same price, I will be one happy mommy!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are so welcome Mari! 😉

  28. Elaine

Thanks everyone who mentioned the M&M’s peelies! I would not have known to look for them. Found one to use today and one to save for later. 🙂

  29. BEustace

I was able to get my son the Ninja turtle costume he wanted with accessory for only $13! Price matched and used the cartwheel! Made my day! ☺️☺️☺️

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay!

  30. Lindsey

These deals are so hard to pass up but, thanks to HIP2SAVE last year… I have jake and izzy costumes from the DISNEY store from last year (for about $6 each) for my 2 preschoolers and they are THRILLED!!!

  31. laura

Hope you guys had better luck than me. I went to Target and scanned every single bag of candy in the halloween candy aisle and they did not have a single bag that qualified for any of the cartwheels. NOT ONE BAG. Not sure how you guys were able to find stuff cause there was absolutely nothing at my store. so disappointed.

  32. Caryn

BUMMER! So sad I missed this cartwheel – crap

  33. Jen

My daughter picked out an adorable witch costume and broom that I’m so thankful we got for 40% off. Thank you! The candy was a disaster though, everyone at my Target was scanning every bag of candy trying to figure out what was on sale. I eventually gave up and just went with the cheap-o handouts – smarties, tootsie rolls, lollipops, and sixlets (we get tons of kids.)

  34. Janel

Does anyone know if this deal may happen again? I didn’t see this until it was too late to make a run to Target.

  35. Lorne

When do the costumes for adults reach 70% off? How soon after Halloween?
