For the 7-11 free coffee, is that just black coffee? Or flavored drinks as well? I haven’t been to a 7-11 in so long but I thought they had a hot drink dispenser…?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

It states “any 7th cup is Free” You can always call ahead to be sure.

  2. Victoria

I contacted my local Barnes & Noble about the Star Wars Lego event for children to sign my son up for it, and was told that the kids have to be 8+. Not sure if they are going to be this strict at other B&Ns, but just a heads up to anyone looking into this event and their kids are under age 8.

    • Kim

Mine is not strict at least when I called, my son is 6 and I asked if it was okay since I didn’t knwo if there was a limit. His response was, “it’s fine I signed up my 6yo too.”.

  3. Gina

Has anyone been to the Babies R us Halloween event? Was it any good?

  4. Happy

I got an Olive Garden never ending family pass. I wanted to donate or give away the 8 complete to-go meals that the pass allows for each day for 7 weeks.
Charity organizations have too many fda regulations and family/friends somehow think I must be taking advantage. I feel sad. 🙁 I am so horrified and embarrassed that friends/family would think that I would wrongly take advantage of a deal. Oh well, it was 392 meals that nobody wants…:,(

    • Krissy

I would love to have it!!!!

    • Kim M.

Happy My family would love that,Please!

    • Just Me

      Me too!

    • sara

Wow. That’s crazy. I understand why you would be upset. My husband and I have two young boys and are tight for cash right now. We are doing our best not to let friends know. I bet if you get the meals and called a friend and tell them you had extra “whatever” and are going to be dropping it off they would love it. Would doesn’t like a night off from cooking.

      • Happy

        That’s a good idea!
That is sort of what I did the other day. But, then I was asked about how I got the food. I told about the pasta pass but I did not think that I would get the response that I did. Things like “well, Olive Garden does only expects you to use it a few times” etc..
It seems that a lot of people kind of view coupons, freebies and promotions as some sort of shameful thing you have to do if you are poor and that it is taking away from a business.
I kind of thought that the point of the pass was that Olive Garden wanted you to share with friends and family, etc.. I even got permission to pick up orders on my husband’s behalf (his name is on the pass) from OG. And, I do tip the servers too.
I would not have minded meeting up with people or delivering the food if my small part could make someone’s day a little bit brighter. I am just incredibly surprised at the negative responses that I have received.
If you lived in MI, I would be very happy to share with you!=)

    • Happy

Hi My family would love that!!

    • Just Me

My husband is a firefighter. Ppl sometimes drop off treats. You could try that. I’m guessing police stations too. During the holidays ppl gave gifts to library staff ( chocolates, homemade cookies). Maybe you could try a few places like that. Local VA, Amvets, hospital

      • Shopper

Police stations are iffy…when I lived in a small town, you could walk in chat, give things, no problem. Moved to a large city, police stations are substations, you walk in and they are behind thick glass, such a different atmosphere.

Before giving always be sure what’s accepted..for food it may be only factory sealed items.

        • Just Me

Probably true for the police stations now that I think about it. I live in a small – medium town. I guess what I was trying to say is maybe ask ppl that you are familiar with if they’d like a lunch ie the library clerk who you chat with regularly, someone at church, teachers.

          • Happy

            Those are great ideas!=)
Challenging though, as I am somewhat new and unknown in town. No kids yet either.
I did set up some meals for a person with cancer and their family through church. But, that is it so far.
            Thanks for your helpful ideas!=)

        • Happy

Yes, this has been my experience. I called around to a lot of places. Most organizations have to follow stringent fda rules regarding packaging, transportation, handling, etc..

    • Just Me

You could also try your church if you have one. Kinda like your own meals on wheels.

    • Robin

Hey, I would love to have one if you still had one to give.

      • Tracy

I don’t think she’s giving it away to anybody. Just stating she has one. Why are people so greedy

    • Jessica Priddy Petersen

I saw an awesome video last year about this. Someone just had the meals filled to-go and took them to homeless people around town. They were so ecstatic to receive a nice restaurant meal and be treated so kindly by a stanger… just another idea of what to do. People will judge you no matter what you do- don’t let a few negative comments break your charitable heart. If Olive Garden had a problem with it, they would change their rules or quit offering the pass.

      • Jessica Priddy Petersen

The video is called “Random Acts of Pasta” on youtube- I remember loving it last year when I saw it. Good luck!

        • Happy

Thank you for your kind words!=)
I was given permission to pick up the meals on my husband’s behalf (his name is on the pass). If OG didn’t want me to use the pass this way, they could have said no. But, instead, they said I would have no issues and wished me luck.
It just makes me sad that close family members could think that I am taking advantage of a promotion in a bad way that they do not even want the pasta anymore. Yikes!
I try to follow the rules and I do have some morals…..And, I do tip the server/take-out person.
I just never imagined giving away wonderful, delicious meals could be so darn difficult.
But, again, I appreciate your very kind words and your wonderful ideas!:)

    • Kate

Lots of groups (Moms groups, churches, etc) do casseroles for people going through difficulties like hospital stays. I would have LOVED for someone to bring by olive garden after i’d had a baby. Especially with the second! Maybe talk to a local church and see if they know who could use a couple of nights off cooking?

      • Happy

        Great ideas! Thank you!=)

  5. Kim M.

Happy My family would love that!! Please 🙂
