All You Magazine Closing Down After 11 Years (Final Issue To Be December 2015)
Are you a current All You Magazine subscriber? If so, you may be surprised to learn that All You Magazine will be publishing its final issue this December 2015. After 11 years in circulation, this magazine was estimated to be losing about $5 million a year. This may not come as a big surprise to many of you avid couponers who likely found recent issues of All You Magazine to be lacking in quantity and quality of coupons. Click here for more information.
How about YOU? Are you surprised that this magazine is coming to an end?
(Thanks, Freebies for a Cause!)
Not a surprise, but makes me sad. Its only a matter of time before all printed magazines, books, paper mail, and the like, will be coming to an end… Things will be all digital before we know it. Guess it has it pros AND cons. 😔
So what about subscribers like myself that have paid for subscriptions – we just lose the remainder? That stinks.
Yeah I wonder the same thing. Luckily I only paid $5 for the year but still. That’s too bad.
Call them and ask for a refund.
I called their customer service dept. and was told that those of us who still have time left on our subscriptions, can in their words, as I recall, forget it.
I have had mags substitute another one of their own mags in place of the dropped magazine. Time Inc has several other mags. In case they don’t do it automatically I would call up and ask, then request they fulfill the rest of the subscription with another.

Although once I had a subscription to ReadyMade magazine. Not only did they NOT do the above, they didnt even notify me they were quitting and I was only 2 months into the subscription. It took me a while to tell I wasn’t receiving it because at the time I had magazines coming out of my ears with all the free mag offers online.
It is sad that so many mags are having a bad time of it. I really do not like to read the digital ones at all.
What happens if you paid recently for the Subscription? I didn’t see anything mentioned in the article.
I can’t say I am surprised at all. The quality of the articles even began to diminish. It was one thing to stop featuring coupons but then the articles weren’t even worth reading anymore. This is certainly a poor way to go about it though. I doubt they suddenly decided to shutter their doors and fold up. They could have at least notified ahead of time. Even better, listen to your customer base and add coupons back as well as articles worth reading.
I pretty much only bought it for the coupons, but the quality of the articles did noticeably decline in the year or so I subscribed. The articles became significantly reader based or pulled from blogs. I know how to Google, and I don’t really care about Nancy-next-door’s opinions/expertise enough to pay for a subscription. Guess that helped keep their overhead lower, but how well did that work out?
There was an issuse between All you and the manufacturers. The manuf didn’t like an article that they printed telling customers to go to Ebay to purchase coupons so a lot of manufacturers pulled out from advertising and that’s when the magazine really started to go downhill. No advertising, no revenue.
I liked the magazine despite the lack of coupons. I am glad I didn’t renew my subscription as the Nov 2015 issue just arrived and is my last issue! I will just have to buy Dec. issue at store! Its just a sign of the times.
Same here! I wasn’t planning on renewing due to the feedback I’ve read on here. I’ll buy the last issue as a fond farewell since I really do like the recipes and crafts.
Thanks to various offers and such, I have several years left on my subscription. So I wonder what’s going to come of that. I actually liked the magazine (even though it was lacking in coupons lately), so I’m a little bummed it’s going away.
Crazy!
Hah! I was just charged $33 for All you last week. Apparently I got a free or cheap subscription with auto renewal. I called them to cancel it. But I think it’s pretty funny that they would renew my subscription and take my money for another year when they knew that they would be shutting down.
Yes me too. Still waiting for my money back. Might not get it at this rate.
I received a refund the next day. They only refunded me $30 but I wasn’t about to sit on hold for half an hour for $3. I think they said it might take up to 10 business days to post to my account. If it’s been longer than that, definitely call them back.
Ask your credit or debit card company to handle the matter if “All You” won’t issue a fund?
I was also disappointed in the lack of coupons in recent years and decided not to renew my subscription this year. It’s too bad though. I did enjoy it.
Usually when a magazine folds the parent company transfers your remaining subscription to one of its other publications that are similar.
This is correct (I’m subscribed to Maxim thru 2040 – no joke). I hope anyone who requests a refund is successful, but the posts here saying you’re entitled to a refund for your remaining subscription after the last issue is absolutely false. The same magazine subscription could sell for anywhere from $3/yr on a multi-year purchase on a wholesale discount magazine website (or even free in some cases) to $40+/year from a door-to-door fundraiser where the seller dictates the rate. Most subscriptions are sold by third-parties and the publisher would have no way of verifying what you paid – not that it would matter if they could as they’re not going to reimburse you the profit some re-seller made anyway.
David, much more interesting–I’m sure–than the All You story is the story of how you got a Maxim subscription through 2040!
Haha yes!!
I had 3-5 year subscriptions to a number of magazines that went under. It seems like when a mens/sports/tech magazine goes under, the publisher just extends my subscription to Maxim – a magazine I have no interest in and originally only subscribed to for a single year while in college 12+ years ago – as compensation.
When Ladies Home Journal (which I liked) quit doing home delivery, they substituted Family Circle (which I don’t like) for 3 years! Wish I could have had a choice or a refund instead.
They’ll have to refund the remainder of your subscription after the December issue. Call or email to ask for a refund.
Of course I just purchased a 2 year subscription – I can’t get their customer service page to work either.
I’m sad to hear they’re closing, I’ve been reading that magazine for years. It used to have a ton of coupons but not so much anymore, but still really liked the recipes. I’m disappointed, also hoping I didn’t pay for a subscription. I used to get it free, but I think I had to pay for it last year.
I just got an email yesterday to renew for $1 an issue…. 2 months lol.
I got that one this morning! Ha ha ha😂
Now the link is inactive. Lol.
Not surprised at all. Quality has gone way down and at least the last 2 yrs there’s been only a few coupons. I think if they would have kept up with the coupons, people would have still subscribed.
yeah that magazine used to be great and full of quality coupons. Can’t say it surprises me that they are quitting. oh well
i subscribe to it
Are there any other good coupon directed magazines out there? It’s actually nice to sit down and flip through a magazine once in a while instead of reading it on my phone.
How sad. I was featured a few years back, for a recipe that I created. It was so cool. They sent me a gift basket as a thank you…sad. I stopped reading this last year. I am pretty much dig, with one or two exceptions. Wish the staff well.
Yum! What is it? Lol
I liked their recipes a lot! Oh well all good things come to an end one day.
I wonder if the all you recipe mag is going to end also?
Are you thinking of all recipes magazine? That’s a different magazine.
They just charged my cc last month to renew and I called and cancelled it and told them it wasn’t worth it anymore.
I really hate to see it fold. It has been a pretty awesome magazine for years, I’ve always enjoyed it. It was one of my favorite magazines
According to the label on my magazine, I have a subscription until July 2017. The Girl Scouts just had their magazine & nut/candy fundraising campaign for their troops and All You was offered for $20/yr or $21/ 2yrs. I am thankful now I chose to buy another subscription magazine
I just did one for a school fundraiser.. Think it was 2 year subscription too.. Ugh! Wasted money I guess.
I cant believe its been 11 years! Where does time go?
I liked the magazine for its articles and recipes. I tried put tons of periodicals in the last 2-3 years. It’s one of two that I decided to renew. Sad for the employees.
I just subscribed last month in a fundraiser!! They shouldn’t have been a part of it if that’s the case.
Unfortunately the fundraiser packets are done months ahead of time, before they go to the schools.
I get this mag, so I called All You customer service and the rep I got didn’t know about the mag shutting down. Was on hold for 10 minutes while the rep read info and talked to his supervisor. I was told subscribers will be getting a notice in the mail, and then can choose a different magazine or get a refund.
Thanks for sharing Patricia 🙂
How sad they didn’t tell their employees?!??
Right!! What a way to find out.
Thanks for the information Patricia. I was wondering what to do I have my subscription until 4/2017.
As luck would have it, November 2015 is my last issue for my subscription. The quality has gone down but it’s always hard to see a business close, especially around the holidays.
Not surprised…. Used to subscribe to this for the coupons, but the coupons became terrible and the articles were the same every month. I get so many free magazines every day I don’t know what to do!! 🙂
2 days ago I went to the All You customer service page and cancelled my subscription. They gave me a refund for the two remaining years I had left.
They should have kept the coupons.
I really liked it. Was great for coffee breaks! I used to love their weekly meal plans – shopping list included! Over time i noticed that went away and then the recipes they did post just didn’t seem that great.

I had just been putting my double subscription in my coupon filing cabinet for many months earlier this year before realizing there were no coupons any more. They auto renewed me a month ago. I called and cancelled it. Glad I did.
The appeal was their coupons. Many other magazines out there have recipes or lifestyle articles. When you drastically downside on what the appeal is, you lose customers! They did this to themselves!
Awe! This sucks. Between this and Shop Smart ending I don’t have any good magazines to read any more. Anyone have any suggestions?
The Ensign. Great magazine with uplifting articles. Cheap too.
I agree! The Ensign & the Liahona are Great magazines that will uplift You & bring Joy into Your Life 🙂
It was going downhill FAST! Sorry that it’s shutting down but truthfully it had not been worth it for a few years.
I contacted the customer service via live chat. They told me that my subscription had been purchased through another company (via school fundraiser) and gave me their 800 number. I was able to call that company and they are processing a refund. So it’s worth a try to contact them.
So anyone have the real phone number to talk to a real person. I can only get the automated cancellation. Did that but never got my refund. Grrrrrr…..
Can anyone help me? Thanks
i guess i should ignore the renewal letter then?
That is sad… Are there other magazines out there like All You that anyone would recommend?
I’m also looking for suggestions on a similar magazine to replace now that All You is being cancelled. I loved it for all the cute tips and tricks and articles.
Here’s my reply from All You after I asked for a refund.
Thank you for contacting ALL YOU Customer Service.
Please be advised that the All You magazine publication will stop with the December 2015. You will be notified about the change that will occur towards your magazine order. We are very sorry for this. But we will not able to confirm at this point to which magazine publication your remaining issues will be transferred.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service.
I was surprised but understand why. I wouldn’t subscribe because I would buy it occasionally at WalMart. I didn’t think it was so terribly good. I like Real Simple better. Hate to see it go, though.
Okay, so I’m really behind the times here…I only just found out that the December issue was the last. My subscription is good until October 2018. I just called Customer Service and they said that a voucher would be mailed out to all current subscribers listing alternative magazines to switch the remaining issues over to. They don’t have any idea when these vouchers will be sent out, though. Hmmmm, I can just see this one “falling through the cracks” and never receiving this voucher. We’ll see I guess.
Me too! I had no idea it was shutting down until today when I received an email from Southern Living informing me. I occasionally got newsletters from All You and the Southern Living email said I would now be receiving newsletters from them. Yeah, I don’t think so. Of course, no mention of what is to become of my subscription through October 2016. I guess I’ll just wait and see if I get a voucher one day. I won’t hold my breath.
So sad. This is one of my favorite mags. I don’t get many and I like the look and feel of real magazines much better than on an electronic device. They are also much easier to read. I think the problem today is not with the printed magazines per se, but with the public. They can’t get off their social networks long enough to appreciate anything printed.
I just found out through an email from ALL YOU – haven’t received any notification through the USPS yet – my subscription was up 09/15 – back in May 2015, I renewed for two more years for $34.00. I’ll be calling them on Monday to request a refund? I read a lot online, but nothing like holding in hand a print copy of your favorite mag, a good cup of Joe, and a few minutes to call your OWN!! Life is a cramp – so take a break!
I just found out (via email!) that the AllYou magazine was cancelled. I have a subscription until March 2017 and they said they are replacing it with Southern Living (yuck!). The phone number given isn’t working 🙁 I wish there was a way I could get a refund instead or even a different magazine.
I got an email on 1/14 that All You and their newsletters were being shut down & I’d start receiving Southern Living Newsletters; nothing about my print subscription that ends in another 18 months. Oddly today I received an email “welcome to MyRecipes, thank you for subscribing to our newsletter”. I already get this newsletter in another email account and don’t remember subscribing using the same email I used with All You. Anyone else get this? It’s also published by Time Inc.
I hate this!!! This was my favorite magazine. I loved the reading, coupons and recipies. This makes me so mad. Every time i find something i like it disappears.
