L'Oreal Consumer Panel

Check out this email & photo from Hip2Save reader, Leslie:

I signed up for the L’Oréal testing panel through your site last year. I recently completed a product test for them in which I got to keep the 2 full size hair products that I tested. Yesterday I received a thank you gift from them for completing the test and surveys. They sent me 3 full size Lancome products and a L’Oréal mascara. I couldn’t believe it! As a work at home mom, Lancome just isn’t a brand that fits my budget. I figure it’s about $125 worth of makeup.

With that being said, if you haven’t joined the L’Oreal Consumer Panel yet, head here to apply. If you qualify, you will receive occasional surveys that are usually focused on skin care and/or cosmetics. When you complete a certain number of the informational surveys, they will mail you full-size bottles of high end skincare and/or makeup products…awesome! 🙂

(Thanks, Leslie!)

I feel like they are looking for a very specific demographic in 2 years I have not been selected once. Kind of disappointing since I spend money on their products but good luck to everyone!

    • fuzzymitten

I’ve never been picked either, but in the past after answering so many surveys, they sent me a full sized bottle of Lancome’s Visionaire lotion.

    • michelle

Yes, you do have to meet fairly strict criteria for their studies. I do a lot of prequalifier surveys and have only gotten picked a few times. Just completed a study…first one in a very long time… and received a full sized Lancome product as well as a couple of Maybelline products in return for my opinion. I do like it even though it’s hit or miss. It’s been easier to qualify for L’oreal than for Pink Panel studies in my experience.

Anyone getting this error message as well?

The survey you are trying to use cannot be displayed. You may be already logged in in a different tab.

    • Jessica

I did too! I clicked the home button (top right hand corner) and it brought me to a register/log in page. HTH

  3. Amy

I was picked last week for a lip gloss study. They sent an unmarked tube, i try it for a week and report back on my thoughts. Pretty cool!

    • Tracey

Congrats you you Amy, hope it’s a good one! I have not been picked in over 2 years either so I just stopped.

      • Amy

        Awe, thank you.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s awesome Amy! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I’ve been a member for over a year and haven’t ever been selected. I did get a free gift for doing some survey, it was a mascara and lipgloss I think. I can’t even remember. It was really nice, but only received once. I got into a Pink Panel study on FB and got a $75 BareMinerals gift card as compensation for trying out a facial serum for a month.

  5. brandice

Never been picked either …34yo African American female

  6. S

I’ve been a member for nearly three years and have never been picked

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn 🙁

    • Monique

Same, over 3+ years here. I keep doing the surveys though.

  7. Mochi

Lots of prequalifying surveys but I never qualify bc 1) bf/nursing, 2) under dermatologist care. I’m sure my chances would be better if I didn’t mark “yes” for those 2Qs.

    What’s the Pink Panel?

    • Sara

It’s on Facebook, I joined there and they have surveys on a lot to see if you qualify. I was a member for about a year before I qualified for a study. It’s like once a year you might get one, but the compensation is pretty awesome. It’s about makeup and hair products too. Also kind of hard to qualify for one; but seems like a better chance than L’Oreal.

I’ve been selected for 2 in the last year or so. Just gotta keep checking site, both times were studies I didn’t receive an email notification for. The first was a liquid liner, got to keep that and got a gloss and a Lancôme palette. The last one I just received my award, tested a mascara which I really liked and also received a full size miracle blur lotion and Maybelline color blur lip.

    • Brooke Montgomery Cassinelli

I got that too! I REALLY like the mascara that I tested. 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! 🙂

They are very strict qualifiers. Look at the products L’ORÉAL puts out. You don’t want some luscious full haired beauty trying to give you opinions on a shampoo being designed for people with thinner hair do you? Maybe you do, but I wouldn’t want to buy it. I want someone’s opinion that has thin hair and a genuine concern/need for such a products.
I think s lot of confusion comes from how easy some of the offerings on this site are to obtain. Not that it’s a bad thing, love H2S, just not everything is a gimmee or instant freebie.
With that being said, I’ve tried many times to get selected by The Pink Panel, can’t seem to pull it off as what they’re looking for. I figure, oh well, I surely wouldn’t want to qualify for beard coloring when I don’t have facial hair.

    • April

Well since everyone is different I would expect someones demographics to be represented in 2 or 3 years. Not everyone has thin straight hair.

      • ~jenn~

The demographics aren’t as simple as; short, curly brown hair in 25-35 yo woman. Or long, straight, thin hair, 40-50 yo woman. I’ve been disqualified from potential studies based on the type of brush I use to blow dry my hair with or how many days a week I use lipstick. The last hair study I did had seven different options of ways to blow dry your hair in the qualifier.
With that being said, my point in my original message was they are very specific and targeted. If the company is happy with a current product and their consumers are as well, they may never test it again. Therefore, 2 or 3 years for that demographic to come around, isn’t gonna happen.

  11. Meredith

I have been a member for a few years. It is very hard to qualify but I have qualified 3 times. You have to do exactly as they ask with the regard to using the product and answering surveys in a timely manner. It is time consuming BUT the rewards are amazing. I have received at least 3 high end products each time mostly being Lancome. The products each time had a value of over $100.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow! That’s great Meredith! Thanks for sharing 😉

  12. deb

I was picked 2 years ago for the Pink Panel, for which I received a $75.00 Amazon gift certificate. I still do the surveys & hope to get picked again. I am grateful to Collin & everyone at Hip2Save for the information & for the opportunity I was given. Just joined this Loreal Testing Panel & since I’m from NJ, I hope I can be successful. If not, no biggie, still grateful for the chance 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet! 😀

  13. mkpassey

I signed up last time you posted about it, but because I’m breastfeeding, I never qualify!

  14. Judy Trac

I did the surveys but never got anything from them

  15. zen

It almost seems like a scam to me. You give them your address, phone #, your Bday, and on the end they tell you that you do not match their study…it’s weird to me.

    • Tee

Not a scam… I’ve done quite a few studies. I’ve been a member for about 3 or so years now! I do hit period where I never had studies, or don’t qualify, but them something pops up. I think the key for some people is that they need to check the site at least once a day. Sometimes studies fill up and then disappear from your screen.

  16. awreecoupons

I’ve done 6 product trials in a year for them always with great compensation. Johnson and Johnson consumer panel gives checks as reward so thats another great option if you’re looking for cash instead of just makeup items.

  17. Kassischerer

I registered & received an email about logging in but every time I click on the link it won’t let me. Can someone copy & paste the link so I can try the link ? Thank you !

  18. imawaken

I sign up and didn’t receive any email yet.
