I used my Panera Reward for $5 reward to purchase a loaf of sourdough bread (priced at $3.59) and a chocolate chip muffie (priced at $1.59). I got a treat and a loaf of bread for only 18¢ that I can use for lunches and to go with soup!

I don’t understand how Panera rewards work. I spend $10 a day ordering lunch there using online ordering / Rapid pickup because I hate lines. I’ve gotten two free cookies so far… after weeks and weeks of ordering. Hmmm!!! No $5 reward for me 🙁

It will always tell you at the bottom of your receipt how many visits you have left before you earn another reward. Also, it’s done based on the amount of visits (which resets every 2 hours) and not by the amount of money you spend. When you do get a reward, it may not always be a free item, but a dollar off discount.
This particular reward was a bonus. From time to time, Panera will send out bonuses for new products, or in this case, the new ordering system, again to entice people to try it out. These bonuses usually expire in 2 weeks whereas a normal earned reward expires in 3 months.
And regardless of your ordering method, make sure you enter your Panera card info every time!
