I have an 11 year old football fan and I’d love to get this for him but I worry about inappropriate content. Can anyone give me some feedback on articles and such? Thank you in advance Hip2Savers 🙂

I actually think kids might enjoy it more than adults. It’s not very in depth and most articles are really short. So perfect for kids wanting basic info. When I subscribed, I got their Insider online access for free. I use that but toss the magazine.

What about extras like ads and such. Don’t mean to sound like the overprotective mom I am but you never know these days.

I don’t know about the ads, but once or twice a year they do the “body” issue. It’s not pornographic per se, but the whole issue is full of nudes of male and female athletes covered or angled just enough to hide important parts.

Kate, I’m also a ‘Kate’ w/ boys that are 13, 11 & 11 and they live this magazine. Yes, the body issue has naked people in them but the are shown so beautifully & tastefully that my kids refer to those issues as the ‘artsy’ issues. :-). Hope this helps.

For the most part it is fine, they did put out the naked issue where athletes posed nude but didn’t reveal anything.

I hope this will come before Christmas- it said estimated delivery was between December 31 and January 28. Yikes! Either way- seems like a good deal.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Hoping you get it quickly as well!

    • Kristina

If you are giving it as a Christmas present you can make a certificate that says 1 year of ESPN the Magazine and put it in an envelope, or a box and give it to them that way.
