Target: Halloween Clearance & Hidden Finds
Target shoppers! As I mentioned here, the Halloween Clearance has now reached 70% off (the food and candy may still be at only 30%-50% off, so be sure to price check). This clearance makes for BIG savings on Halloween apparel, party supplies, baking items and more… a great time to snag stuff for next year OR think outside the box, as many of these items would make nice stocking stuffers etc. Here are a few items I spotted at my local Target in Boise, Idaho…
IMPORTANT TIP: Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for hidden clearance throughout the store! For example, you may spot Halloween-themed items in the grocery section or in the apparel section. These items may NOT be marked, so be sure to price check as they may ring up for 50% to 70% off since they really are part of the Halloween seasonal items. I love when I spot hidden treasures…makes shopping at Target entirely too fun! 🙂

Last year I got candy (smarties, starbursts) at the after Halloween sale that didn’t expire until Sept of the next year. We gave it out for the Valentine’s day party.

I found nail polish decals for .30, girls Halloween tattoos for 0.30 and led pumpkin lights for 1.25 (2pk) as well as a witch costume for my daughter that was my buy price of 3 bucks!!

Make sure you check Walmart first. I bought a tmnt costume today for $9 instead of $30 thinking that was a good deal. Walked out of target and went to Walmart and the EXACT same costume was $3.75 normal price $15. I knew target was higher than wm but I didn’t realize it was double on some of the EXACT same things. Crazy.
I There is always someone every year that posts this. I’m sure the two costumes varied in some way, shape, or form. Maybe the one at Target was better quality, more designs, different fabric, etc. Target use to be notoriously more expensive than Walmart but it has not been that way for some time.
I recently purchased a few items at Target and then found them for a couple dollars less at Walmart…exact same coffee mugs and office supplies. I thought the same thing that Target items must be a little better quality, etc, but upon inspection, I was upset to find such a big price difference on the same items.
Target costumes did run a little high this year. I think it was because of the buy one get one free promotion.

I found 4 bottles of nail polish for 59 cents each. Great stocking stuffers :). And I had a target dove chocolate coupon that expires on November 7th so only $1.27 per bag of cheap yummy chocolate.
I just bought the clearance Halloween glow in the dark nail polish for my 2 girls and it is going back. There is formaldehyde in it.

I used a betty crocker coupon for $1 off two betty crocker baking items from coupons.com and my Target had refrigerated Halloween cookies on clearance for $1.25, so I got two packs of cookies for $1.50!

There is little to nothing in my local target (Dfw,tx). I did hit a good sale at Kroger where candy and Halloween goodies were 75% off. Huge bags of Snickers and Reese’s pumpkins for $1.65…26 count Halloween fruit snacks AND roll-ups for $1.25!

Was there again today… (Yeah I have problems! 😀) food was 50% off everything else 70%. Got men’s skull boxer shorts $1.75, striped leggings $1.50.. But the best deal was the one spot items! I bought so many awesome gift bags .30 each, Tissue .90… Burlap ribbon .30, sticky lint roller .30, file folders .30…. Wasbi tape .50…Ok my basket was overflowing ! Fall tidy cat litter 20 lbs for $3.49.
I also noticed they had the big planters that looked like urns at 70% off for $17.00! Didn’t buy them… But still check your garden section!!

I saw some Howloween dog treats last week. Anyone see these or know if they were marked down as they were not discounted at my store at all last week-they were in the pet section.
I saw the same thing at my store Amanda. Clearly Halloween,but when I compared the shelf tag it was the same number as the regular package. So unless someone decides to mark them down specifically at store level it won’t clearance out itself.
Same problem with the cat treats in my store
I found non-Halloween themed stuff that was leftover from the 1 spot in the 70% off Halloween section…. Small tins with a lock (perfect for stocking stuffers) in Sophia the first and spider man theme and I think cars for .30 cents, plastic expandable file folders for .30 cents, single super glue packages for .30 cents and galaxy white and gold markers for .30 cents (the scrapbook store I used to work for sold these for $4 each).

Amanda, I priced checked a big bag of Halloween pup-peroni two days ago and it was still saying $10.99
I have had good luck in similar situations taking holiday clearance up to Customer Service and asking if the cashier or manager will adjust the price down to the current % off.
I got a wooden “spooky” sign for $1.50 original $10.00. A string of skull lights for $4.50 original $15.00. And a fall wreath for $6.00 original $20.00

I’ve scored a lot of the women’s novelty tee shirts like the mean girls “I’m a mouse” tees, “still creepin” and some others in the women’s department for crazy great price! There not marked at all as clearance regular price 12.99, then 70% off and the women’s apparel cartwheel offer is stacking so I’ve gotten all these shirts for $2.91!! Check out your stores. One of my local stores in central Florida had many items included such as a special halloween package of Hot Wheel cars on sale (the cars inside were not Halloween themed) great Christmas stocking stuffer! Also, Frozen themed Chocolates also great for stockings…..now Halloween theme! Yeah!
I recently moved and I am so excited that my new Target is not always cleared out and picked over right away like my old one. I scored a ton of stuff at 70% off yesterday and food was 50%! I don’t need any candy but I was able to stock up on snacks like pretzels for $1 for when my daughter is the snack helper at school.
For anyone in northern Virginia, Chantilly still had a ton of stuff yesterday. I ran some DCPIs on brick seek this morning and showing still 70% but maybe 90% is coming …

also check bakeware. I got some Pyrex bowls with lids for $1 and change. They had little ghosts on the side. I stocked up on goldfish – large boxes & snack packs. Annie’s fruit snacks, cookie mixes, cake mixes. Also brown paper lunch bags – they have orange stripes for .59 cents. There are paper plates – up & up brand that are orange and black that are clearance as well. I also bought Yankee candles. They are in the square jars priced at 24.99 on clearance for $7 and change. Scents were pumpkin cupcake, midnight pumpkin, and mixed berries. Midnight pumpkin doesn’t smell like pumpkin – more floral scented. Anyways, great buys since I’m hosting thanksgiving and I can use lots of this stuff for that! If you have time just walk around the store and keep your eyes open. People put things back in random places all over. As someone mentioned before the cartwheel for women’s clothing works on clearance. I got tee shirts for a couple of bucks and sweaters for $4.50. I saw maxi skirts that would have been 4.50 each – great price. I paid twice that. Good luck! Hope everyone finds some great deals! Try a couple of targets if you can. One store was pretty bare but another had a ton and they are only 15 apart.

Found some dollar spot items unmarked. Wrapping paper tissue paper gift bags with pink orange and green leaves, animal wrapping paper, little glass jar with orange chalkboard top, Alex bath crayons, white pen for writing on dark paper all items 30 cents each (except the tissue paper which was 90 cents).
went to 2 different targets in sw fl – found halloween mac & cheese on clearance for 69 cents at 1; the other was pretty picked over
Just stocked up on halloween themed cupcake liners. They were 70% Clearance plus there was a 20% Cartwheel on cookware/bakeware. They were originally $1.99 (75 ct.) but i only paid .47 each!! 🙂 I also used my target card 5%. Fyi : you can only do 4 cupcake liner pkgs at time if using cartwheel. I had to do 5 different transactions.

90/70 today in Chantilly VA! Still a ton of candy, a lot of costumes, a lot of paper supplies, a lot of macaroni and baking items as well as tons of caramel apple Oreos. Not much else. Also found Halloween cookie slice and bake and pumpkin cream cheese in another section and lots of unmarked men’s Halloween boxers on an end cap.

I picked up M&Ms & Hershey’s Kisses for .95 cents and $1.07 respectively. Plus there’s a 5% cartwheel coupon on M&Ms. My shopping for wedding favors is now complete 🙂
