   I just purchased the KitchenAid Pro 600 mixer over the weekend from Kohl’s. Now I keep looking to see if I got the best deal… I paid $388 after shipping and taxes – $50 mail-in rebate – $120 in Kohl’s cash. So about $218 after the fact. Does anyone know of a better scenario to buy this mixer? Kohl’s cash is nice, but I would like to be able to free up that money to spend other places.

  Thanks Sue! I checked that one out, it’s a 5 qt, and has a 525 w motor, otherwise it’s pretty much the same as the one above.

   If your planning to do bread making, this is NOT the mixer for you. The motor will not last for more than 5 years which IMO will not make any deal on this worth it. For breads you want a bigger motor.

  I have had this mixer for 7+ years and make cakes as a side business, mix large batches of heavy frosting and mine is still humming right along. It is a work horse in my opinion! Considering ordering another one for when I launch my business full time! Have made bread in it and it kneads effortlessly.

  Can u tell me which mixer is best for bread making? I returned my 5-qt Artisan bc it just couldn’t keep up w/ kneading. I followed all instructions and the mixer head bobbed so much when I use the kneading function! Thx!

  Go up to the pro series they are on amazon this one is not the one for bread making. I have had 2 over 7 years and the motor will go out after 2 years. My second one has had a circuit issue where it will turn on sometimes and it won’t others. It has been repaired at a service center but getting worse now. I use it daily for bread and was told to go up in the series.

   Can you do the rebate on this? I did the Kohl’s deal too yesterday. Was planning to use the Kohls cash on attachments for the mixer.
