Pears are not one of our favorite fruits but these are something we talk about all year!! We try to get them for ourselves at Christmas and have ordered them as gifts and shipped directly to the recipients. Can’t beat the price for a gift delivered!
They are the best pears by far. They always taste great and are the right softness and texture. Sooo worth it. My husband buys me a box every year for Christmas. They also have great candy and moose munch. Lots of good stuff from there. If you can find a store near you, check them out. You can catch stuff on clearance as they get to the end of their “ripeness”. Oh so yummy!!!
WORTH.EVERY.PENNY! They won’t taste ANYthing like the grocery store ones!!! MMMMMMMMMMMM. And check out ship to dates. I did some of their after Christmas baskets but had them shipped on MOTHERS DAY! I still got the great price!
For anyone who has never tried these pears, know that they are worth every penny! I’ve been buying these every holiday for over 20 years and they are delicious and incredibly sweet. Harry and David also always stand behind their products and their customer service is excellent!

We got an order from friends and I wished they looked this nice~ unfortunately- the pears were all browned- but on the upside I am making a tart with them lol! Making Lemonade w/ free lemons!
They shouldn’t look like that – you need to call H&D and they will replace them at no charge. Are they the Royal Rivieras or the Mavericks? The Mavericks are not quite as “pretty” on the outside and are a bit smaller but still delicious!
We had the same thing happen last year, we called, they sent out a new box and it was still the same. Frozen solid and browned and bruised. Some people have great luck but we have not.
The same thing happened to my parents box and also my box! Dad called customer service and they are replacing them at no charge!

Same for us. They were all bruised and not very flavorful at all. I actually think grocery store pears are better. I hate to be negative but this was my first order of these pears and I doubt I would ever order them again.

I ordered 2 boxes last thanksgiving delivered on christmas for same price.They are big, juicy, and sweet! still kinda pricey for over $2 each according to my husband, i just wish they are organic.

We have ordered these for several years now. One year we did get a bad batch, we sent them a photo and a nice ‘hey we expected better’ message. They replaced it immediately – Great customer service and their fruits are usually fantastic!!

For the first time ever this year, ours were all discolored and brown. They were a gift so I would never say anything but not a very attractive presentation for as pricey as these are. Buyer beware just like everything else.
I think you should just contact Harry and David directly and request a replacement box, that way you don’t have to sound ungrateful to the gift giver, but still get what you’re entitled to. We got a bad box also, so I sent an email and they quickly responded and said they would be sending another box. I’m pretty sure this is a common issue for them.

FYI…I was able to get some of these at Trader Joe’s for $7.99 for a 2 1/2 lb box last week. It said Harry & David on it. They were so sweet. It’s a seasonal item.
