Sorry if this offends.. but it would be cool if this gave a small shock to whoever rings the doorbell when my baby is napping!

    • Janice

That made me laugh because I remember all too well that would ALWAYS be the time someone would come to the house. The dogs would bark, wake my sleeping girl and me if I was finally able to nap with her. Ugh! I had a sign out and they’d STILL ring it or knock! Grr!

      • Eileen

W used to have a wireless style doorbell (it died on us) ….one of the things I loved about it was that I would remove the button from the front of the house when the kids were napping so that the bell couldn’t be rung!

    • Melissa

Anyone who has had kids totally understands that feeling!

    • Queenmum

Invent it and I’ll buy one!!

    • Colleen

Amen sister!! And at the same time it should open up the doggy door so the dogs get out before they start barking and wake the baby even more!

    • Jenna

I’m thinking I’ll buy this one just so I can unplug it for naps!

  2. Erika

Too funny! That gave me a good laugh! It never fails, as soon as the baby is asleep everyone and their mother decides to make a surprise visit.

  3. Jenn

Sorry if this offends… but it bugs me that people think that people come over intentionally to their house just to ring their door bell and wake up their baby. Most people don’t come over to cause you problems. They come over because they care, it unfortunatley happens to be when the baby is napping, which baby’s nap alot.

    • Michelle

I totally understand where you’re coming from. I never minded people coming to visit me, even if it meant my baby woke up. I appreciated that they wanted to see us. I never expected everyone to know my schedule & keep up with it. It was always better to know people cared about us rather than think no one ever wanted to come or was too afraid to come.

Thanks for posting- Been looking for a new door bell 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

You know what’s funny? We haven’t had a doorbell for years, and the other day when a doorbell sound played on the tv, both dogs went running crazily towards the door. Nice price on wireless doorbell!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Too funny! Thanks for sharing Amy!

  6. Kate

That’s too funny about the dogs!! I wld like one that when a solicitor comes to the door it gives them a shock & yells “can’t u read?!? Sign says NO SOLICITORS except Girl Scout cookies & Boy Scout popcorn!! & yes my sign really says that 😂

When the kids were little, there was a couple that would “drop in” at nap time and ring the doorbell, even though they had been asked to call in advance. And hearing the dog bark and the baby cry, they would say, “I know you asked us to call first, but we were in the neighborhood” when they walked in.

    • Kara

Wow. Especially considering you politely asked them to call first- this is not polite in return. I think it’s very kind of people to want to visit, but in this day and age- a text or phone call in advance isn’t too much to ask.
I know some parents who have children who won’t fall asleep without a major effort. I can see why it would be upsetting to not have that request respected.

  8. Katie

Thanks for this deal! I was looking for one and I bought this. Everyone is welcome to come ring it as often as they like (as long as it’s to drop off cookies).

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re welcome Katie! Sounds like a great plan 😉

Yeah it can be a pain. We had a Baby Sleeping hanger that I made and used with our six and it was a diplomatic and kind way to let people know. Not sure how many return trips my mom and all the friends I had come over to help with difficult recoveries would make if they had been shocked.

This is also awesome for a caregiver of someone who is immobile, when my FIL was very ill/hospice we kept one by his bedside so if he needed something he could ring bell & my MIL could take it upstairs with her if she was going to rest.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Such a great idea! Thanks for sharing Sheila!

Thank you! I’ve been needing one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Perfect! You are very welcome!

This is great! Our doorbell has been fried for a year and I have been meaning to get a new one but I didn’t know the first thing about buying a doorbell. Thank you!

just to share–i just used the code and it still works! I went through swagbucks so i could earn 7sbs {since Amazon doesn’t qualifiy for %back in most categories via TCB or Ebates or SAH} i’m excited to get this! i also selected slower shipping so that i earn $1 for digital/video purchases.
