Can you suggest a website for recipes? I got one for Christmas and have no idea what to do with it!

      • Instant_pot

Youtube has a lot of recipes. You could start there. but i have used mine to steam, saute, cook whole grains, rice.

        • Kate

          That’s a great idea…thanks! 🙂

Is there something wrong with the previous version? Which one do you own?

    • Instant_pot

This is the version that I own and its been working great for almost 3 years now. they just come up with new features in the new version.

      • Dawn

Thank you, I decided to order one. If I don’t know what new features are added then I won’t miss anything. I think I’ll be happy with this one.

The bundle breaks out like this:

    Instant Pot $63.90
    Ninja Drink mixer $25.89
    Total = $89.79

You can return one if don’t want both pieces and keep the lower bundle price since they won’t charge full price if you return part of the bundle. I’ll likely return the drink mixer since I already have a Vitamix.

Would like to have the cooker but must resist, we’re saving for summer vacation.

There is the same bundle but with a newer version for $115.99 and the newer version makes yogurt😊 i just searched insta pot and it came up😀

    • Kim

The newer combo does make yogurt but its a 5qt. not a 6qt. They sell a 6qt but not as a combo.

I got mine during the black Friday deal on amazon and I used it about 6 times. I’m not sure why but it’s not venting anymore so there is no steam coming out and it’s not tenderizing. Not sure what to do.

I don’t have the same model but maybe this will help:

Make sure you have it dialed for steaming (if it’s not steaming, then it should be pressure cooking)

Check that the “floater” where you dial to steam or pressure cook is not clogged with any food debris or scaling.

Make sure the inner gasket is firmly set and seals.

My unit had initial directions to put so much water in it (I think half full) set it to pressure cook for 10 minutes, let cool until you can remove lid.

The instant pot is amazing!!!!! My husband doesn’t let me touch it. It’s his baby lol. This thing makes everything super fast. Fall off the bone ribs in 30 minutes…best thing we have in our kitchen! Totally worth it.

Thanks Pat. I will try that because I love the thing, just want it to work again

i have this pressure cooker, except its an 8 quart. some of the best $80 i ever spent!!! i made my first whole chicken in that bad boy a couple weeks ago….put the whole thing in, and dumped the ingredients right on top of it. then some oil, garlic, paprika, thyme and cream of chicken (was out of chicken stock), set it for 35 mins and walked away. well let me tell you, IT WAS AMAZING. i struggled to get the 10lb bird out bc it was just falling off the bone. then i was left with a like 6 cups of “gelatin” i’ve made roasts, ribs, my first ever soup and even chicken tacos. its easy and they’re so different then the “old school” ones. they’re a heck of a lot safer for one. anyway…i recommend it. i also recommend an air fryer if you ever find one at a good price. the air fryer is my go to tool. you can make anything in there. its a deep fryer without the grease. weve made so much. you should taste what it can do to a personal sized frozen pizza. youd think you were at a 5 star restaurant!! lol. i’ve even made a cake in it. it wasn’t the best, but it sure beat running our oven!! the best thing about the air fryer is when you make french fries, onion rings,, mozz sticks, etc, you don’t need a drop of oil. not a single bit. but yet you don’t miss out on any of the flavor at all. its incredible technology. both of them are!!! enjoy!
