(Thanks, Misty!)
I’m a beauty/makeup fanatic and I actually prefer this real techniques sponge over the beauty blender!
I completely agree!!!
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing!
Me too! Love this sponge!
These are the closest I have ever found to the original beauty blender! Almost no different at all. You can also score these at Ulta for $6.99-when they offer buy one get one 50% off I always stock up!. ($6.99+$3.49)-($3.50 off of $10 purchase you can almost always find)=$6.98 or just $3.49 per sponge plus beauty rewards points.
Sweet! Thanks for your feedback!
Nice! tomorrow is the last day for the buy one get one half – and a new $3.50 off $10 starts tomorrow. Thanks
You can also find the two pack at ulta for $10.99 and use the 3.50 off coupon making it $3.75 per sponge!
Silly question… But with this work for a powder foundation?
You get what you pay for. I’m a makeup artist and I’ve used these and they rip easily. I’d rather spend the money on something once than have to buy it again. Beauty blender is the real deal. Just my honest opinion. I wait until they go together on sale or as a bundle.
Thanks for your honest review Melissa!
Oh my goodness, I thought it was just me who ripped it after the first cleaning. I’ve always used a Beauty Blender, and wanted to see what the hype was about Real Techniques. Saw a bunch of YouTube raves. I like the price tag, but it ripped after the first cleaning.
My sister has been using the Beauty Blender for several years, and she decided to try this one b/c of an Ulta offer. She didn’t like it at all, and after a few uses, it started coming apart. She gave me the 2nd one and I didn’t have any problems with it ripping like she did. But the sponge did start coming apart after 2 months. When she gave me the Blender for Christmas, oh man WHAT A DIFFERENCE! So soft and cushiny compared to this one.
Melissa, what is the best way to wash the Beauty Blender to prolong its life?
You can either use the beautycleanser (which comes with the beauty blender bundle deal) or you can use Johnson’s Baby Moisture Wash and rinse. I’ve used both but found that the cleanser works best. hope that helps 🙂
Thank you!
FYI I’ve had the original beauty blender also rip just within weeks of purchasing.
I have 4 and none have ever ripped. Not saying that they don’t, you just have to be careful with them.
Me too. And it molded. I don’t see the hype at all.
I love this sponge I purchase mine in Walgreens and the first time you touch it its so SOFT.
Oh cool! Thanks for sharing Lexy!
Have 2 of these, work really well but be careful when washing, these rip easily. Just purchased the beauty blender to see what all the hype is about, so I will see if it is worth the $$$$
I just purchased one for 86 cents at Kohls online. I had a $5 yes2you reward expiring on the 31st, plus 20% off coupon. Free pickup at my store. Can’t wait to try it!!!
Good find!
Thank you Betty! I had $5 expiring so I’m buying one too to pick up.
Beauty blender will last longer
Thanks for your honest feedback Brooke!
I’ve never used one, but have wanted to try. I’ve heard good things about the Real Techniques blender. $5 seems like a good price point to see if I like it before spending full price for a beauty blender. 🙂 Thanks! I’m also picking up a Sonia Kashuk pointed blending brush that I wanted to try.
Sweet!
My sister is a makeup guru and prefers the beauty bleander but I use the Target one. It works great for me. I think if you aren’t super into makeup this is a great alternative. Most people won’t be able to tell the difference if you used a beauty blender or real techniques.
Thanks for your review Brittany! Good to know!
OOT, does anybody know if the Olay facial promo Buy 3 get $5 Target GC is valid in store also? thanks
How long do these last, how often do they need to be replaced??tia
I buy these Real Techniques at Ulta when they go on sale (pack of 2 is a good deal). I love them! Mine do not rip until a few months of use. I wash mine with Dr. Bronners liquid soap. Great sponges! Love ’em!
