   FYI I bought this crock pot from target last week and I’m disappointed. The crock moves quite a bit when the lid isn’t locked on so I got burned while stirring more than once.

  I purchased the programmable crockpot @ target a few weeks ago also. And mine is the same way, crock has ALOT of wiggle room. Mine also never came to a boil, after 5 hours on the high setting. This is the 3rd crockpot I have bought in as many months because my 20+ year old finally quit on me. I would really appreciate if anyone has good reviews on a newer slow cooker. I cook a lot of beans and always bring them to a boil prior to turning on for slow & low, but cannot seem to get one hot enough to boil I guess. And the last 3 have been total disappointments. Thanks in advance!

  I have the programable Hamilton Beach one that locks and has a thermometer, and I like it. I also have a basic, cheap Crock-Pot and it works really well.

  Invest in a pressure cooker. I do dry beans all the time and this has worked way better than a slow cooker. Actually just got rid of our 6 qt slow cooker and use the pressure cooker for everything! soups, beans, chili, lasagna, etc (we don;t eat meat)
