FREE Paribus App: Automatic Price Adjustments (Start Saving on Amazon Purchases & More)
Have you ever bought something only to have it go on sale the next week? If you’ve ever experienced this frustration (I sure have!)…well Paribus is here to the rescue! 🙂
Paribus is a completely FREE App that automatically gets YOU a refund on the price difference at 18 different online retailers including Amazon, Macy’s and Target! So even if retailers like Amazon change their prices 100 times each day, Paribus will get you the price difference back into your pocket.
To get started, just connect Paribus with your email account and shop online as you would normally. Paribus then monitors your inbox for emails from supported stores and whenever it sees a receipt for a purchase, it immediately goes to work and monitors the price of the item you bought.
When a price drop is detected, Paribus automatically writes a personalized email to the retailer from your account and submits a refund request for you – you do nothing! Refunds are usually returned in the form of your original payment to the store and are issued by the merchant (not Paribus).
Even sweeter, for a limited time, your first price adjustment is completely FREE! This means you don’t need to provide your credit card until you’ve seen the savings. Plus, if you have multiple email accounts, Paribus encourage users to sign up for multiple accounts (limit 1 account per email address)! Sweet!
How does Paribus get paid? The company takes a 25% cut of the refund when it’s received. So if you receive a $100 refund one month from Paribus, you’ll be responsible for paying them $25. That’s still $75 more than you would have gotten otherwise!
How about you Collin? Do you use this app?
Everyone is going to do what they want, if someone feels that giving a company the password to their personal email account is worth the risk, they will do it no matter what.
That being said, please realize that nothing on the internet is 100% secure. Individuals and businesses are both targeted by hackers, if they are persistent enough and good at what they do, they will get in. It might take them a while, but it is still a very real possibility. Now put yourself in a seasoned hacker’s shoes. What sounds more inciting: getting into some random individuals email accounts or spending more time and getting into a company that stores thousands of personal email addresses along with the passwords?
Just some food for thought. There is no way I would ever give out my passwords (I make them difficult for a reason thanks) but ultimately, that is up to each person to decide for themselves.
Don’t most website not actually store your password. They link and then do not maintain your login info
Following up on a very old post, here, but just in case any readers are still following comments, I wanted to update.
I’ve been using Paribus since December and two weeks ago I bought a pair of Converse All-Star shoes on markdown from Macy’s.com.
The next day Macy’s dropped the price of my shoes $15! I rarely shop at Macy’s (only did it this time because of a H2S post), so I never would have seen this price drop or thought to check back, plus I didn’t realize Macy’s had a price adjustment policy.
Paribus to the rescue — Paribus sent Macy’s a polite e-mail on my behalf and I got back $16 (with tax).
I’ve also gotten several refunds of anywhere from $1 to $4 on my Amazon purchases, including Subscribe and Save items.
So I am definitely still loving Paribus!
