How odd. Were you able to use code WMLOVE16? I am still finding that to work for me when I apply it. Hope that helps!

Just my review but while my baby loves to chew on this necklace it’s too short. Babies head is in your face pretty much so they can chew on the beads! If it was longer it would be perfect I feel!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your honest feedback Daisy!

    • Alanna

I am working on some longer styles right now! Thanks for your feedback!

Also the beads can slide around on the necklace as there are not knots or something between them to stop. My baby will get the beads in her hand and by the time she gets it to her mouth they sometimes slide down the necklace.

      • Alanna

Some mamas prefer to put a knot at each end of the beads to prevent sliding. Toddlers seem to enjoy the loose beads and like sliding them around. By not knotting them, I let mamas choose what works best for them.

What are the necklaces called that the baby wears? And it’s not for chewing on. Anyone know?

    • Lin C

Baltic Amber necklaces! My baby is 8 months old and has never had teething issues. I highly recommend them!

      • Sam

        Yes! THANK YOU(:

        • Sam

Just found one on amazon for $10.99!

          • APS

Are these Baltic ones really good? My little one is about to start teething.

            • Megan B.

I’d say no. For a few reasons. There is no science behind baltic amber, just a bunch of sellers claiming that it’s a magic cure. Secondly, succinic acid has a high melting point. For it to leech out of the stones as claimed, you’d need to super heat them.. as the melting point is 363.2 degrees Fahrenheit. Also you should consider that succinic acid is not widely studied for pain relief specifically for infants or humans. So basically, you have no idea how much is safe.. even if it WAS (it’s not)giving some from the stones. The necklaces often boast a break free string and double knots, but what they don’t want you to know is that strangulation and choking are still major hazards. My own son got hung up on his and nearly strangled himself as a toddler(It did NOT break as the company stated it would). These get a big fat NO from me. You will never find a single scientific study backing their use or actually anyone other than sellers, mom blogs and some people who swear by them. I think the real reason people believe they work is just a form of psychological placebo.. they perceive that it helps their child. The amber industry preys upon desperate parents, and I find it shameful that they advertise lies.

      • Juliana

Anyone know a reputable company for Baltic Amber beads? TIA

        • amanda

Hazelaid.com I’ve placed several orders through them, wouldn’t go elsewhere, I accidently ordered too late for my youngest and he was finally back to his usual calm self within an hour of getting it on!

How’s the durability for older kids? I have a highly oral 4 year old and the pendant style isn’t getting as much use as I’d like. He preferred chewing on the breakaway clasp.

    • Alanna

We have several customers who have purchased these for use with older children, and so far we’ve had no complaints about durability. My two year old chews on one every day and hasn’t managed to hurt one yet! 😊

wow!! I dont have little kids, my boys are old , 10 years old.. I didn’t know about this product ever.
    Does it work???
Could be like a fun baby shower gift

  7. Jill

I’ve never used this product (kids too old) but my sister has. Her biggest complaint was that it ended up getting hair stuck to the beads (saliva is sticky!) She wasn’t impressed enough to buy another one. Just one thought if you have long hair.

    • Alanna

We designed our necklaces without beads going around to the back of the necklace to try and minimize hair pulling. Of course there’s no way to completely prevent it, but the necklaces can be washed easily by hand or in the dishwasher to keep them clean.

I dont understand how these are not a potential chocking hazard.?

    • Alanna

The breakaway clasp will come open when your child pulls on the necklace. No matter how hard you pull on the cord, my husband has never been able to break one. Obviously, you should never leave baby unattended with one as these are designed for mama to wear while with baby.

  9. Lora

Will they hold up for adult children?
    What is the age limit?

    • Alanna

I don’t have any personal experience with this but I think it would be a great tool to use. I would definitely recommend any caregivers regularly inspect it for wear. You could also consult with any therapists you may be working with to get their opinion too.

Hmm… I thought we should train babies to not chew on Jewelries? What if they find a real piece of jewelry or a marble on the floor, and bite hard? Still it’s an interesting product and look pretty!

  11. Lora

True but some autism children needs extra oral stimulation & chewing on appropriate items help.

  12. Adrian

All of my kids are well past teething age, so I might be wrong, but doesn’t this necklace give babies the wrong idea? As in, doesn’t it teach babies that they can chew on mom’s jewelry? I have 6 kids and I never let any of them chew on my jewelry. That seems like a bad habit that would be hard to break. Just my 2 cents.

  13. Maori

My two cents–I have 2 little ones and would never want to wear anything that has my baby’s spit on it. Motherhood is hard enough, just trying to keep my dignity intact most days. 😀

    • Leigh

I agree! That was my first thought! Who wants to wear a slimy teether around their neck?!

  14. Shea

I have two of these. While I don’t wear them personally, I do give them to my daughter to chew on with the clasps together. (She can’t get it apart.) She loves to chew on them and she is easily entertained with the beads. She wasn’t really interested in chewing on them until she was 9 months though. I am interested to see how long she will be interested in chewing on them!

  15. Judy

Love it Alanna – well thought out product, great baby shower gift!
