My boys HATE their 3-in-1 jackets this year and I don’t blame them. I purchased them this time last year and the way the lightweight jacket attaches at the wrists is poorly designed. In previous jackets the attachment was on the outside of the inner jacket and there was also one at the back of the neck. The jackets I have currently have no attachment at the neck to hold the two jackets together and at the wrist the attachment is on the inside of the interior jacket. (Hope you can follow me on that) Needless to say the interior jacket is always being pulled inside out when they take them off and they do not hang very well because the two jackets are not connected together at the neck. I have bought the 3-in-1 jackets from TCP since my boys were toddlers and this is the last jacket I will buy like this from TCP. My boys are in 8/10 currently. I love TCP jeans for my boys just for the record.

I agree! I both them for both my kids when they were on sale last year and I ended up buying both kids new coats. Each piece is sill good for lightweight spring/fall days though.
I’ve the same problem with the 3-in-1 jackets as well. Quality of the jacket is good. But it’s poorly designed.
I bought one for my daughter last year there for this year, and it is exactly how you described, Jennifer! I used to work at a Children’s Place, and have always bought my kids the 3-in-1 coat because I love them, but when I got this one, I was very unimpressed. They don’t feel as thick as previous years, either, in my opinion, almost just feel cheaply made. It’s getting my daughter through the winter just fine, but it’s kind of a let-down for me when I’ve stood behind their clothing for years.
I just purchased the jacket in store on clearance and it has the connections at the arms and the back of the neck. So maybe they upgraded.
I purchased one of the 3-in-1 for my son recently and it has the loops/snaps for both the neck and wrists. The liner also zips nicely to the shell. I am curious if the issue was fixed or is an issue now. I am planning on buying a size up for next year.
I bought a 3 in 1 last year and the zipper broke after only a few months of use. I tried to fix it by sewing in a new zipper but I couldn’t get it even then I got frustrated and threw out the jacket lol.
I know exactly what you mean but they redesigned this year’s and it is fabulous. There is a neck attachment and the loops to attach at the sleeves are on the outside!
Same here! In years past, these jackets have lasted as hand me down for my 3 boys. This year, the zipper broke & the attachments (only at wrist, not in back) were velcro that came off every time my son took off his jacket. No attachment in the back to hang up coat. It’s disappointing b/c even though Childrens Place is not top of the line, the coats have been awesome in the past.
Agree! I had been buying the 3 n 1 for the last few years for my son the last one all he does is whine about it.. My mom ended up buying him a cheap one from walmart. Its a shame they used to be absolutely awesome! His is from last year I bought it big but same concept, it is bunk!

Hmm that’s interesting because my son’s 3 in 1 jacket from this year does have the clasp at the back of the neck. This is much better than the first 3 in 1 jacket I bought for my son at 18mo in which I had to put the fleece liner inside out in order to attach it. That was years ago and ever since then it hasn’t been that way. I was happy for the update.
Cardholders should have an extra 25% off in their monthly statement (which works on clearance)….I got a boat load of clothes and jackets for my daughter and niece! 🙂
