I was just on the Target Facebook page and someone questioned whether or not the $20 was before or after coupons. They replied that the $20 must be met after all coupons are deducted in order to get the gift card. Now I’m not sure whether or not this will work. I usually give them the Target coupon first, then the coupons, then cartwheel.

Before coupons has always been the way. Always worked for me, no issues.
Well, their coupon policy says otherwise, so I’d go with that! – ‘The threshold for the category coupon is based on the retail of the qualified items prior to Manufacturer item-level and Target item-level coupons.’
That part is from the FAQ What should I keep in mind if I want to redeem a category/department or storewide coupon?
If you give them the target Q before all the other the gift card has already been issued, and I have never had them ask for it back. Anxious to see what others are having happen regarding this though, I’ve never had s problem as long as I handed it over first
I just did a transaction with the beauty coupon. I gave the target Q first then all my other coupons and it worked just fine.

Like always, my guess is people’s experiences will be different all over the country. There’s no rhyme, reason or consistency to how things are done. I have always done gc & coupon deals together and never had issues. My total is always after coupons and it works for me. Yet, I see people all the time report on here that they get rejected for the same exact deals I am able to do. Depends on the store, cashier’s and management of the store’s is what I’ve learned by reading posts over the years on h2save. So it’s one of those things you might not know until you try it at your store or multiple stores.
