I ordered 2 of these about a month ago for my backseat. I have a Pruis V (the big one) and I was trying to use it in the middle seat, but it was too wide, so the seatbelt buckles on either side were very hard to get to. The product is great, very good quality, but just don’t fit in the middle seats of most vehicles. This is a super price for seat protectors, and I always trust the Munchkin brand!

      Thanks for your review Megan!

Great price. But I have the Brica one that I bought for $40 from Babies R Us and really love it. It covers all the way to the bottom of the headrest. I would worry that with this one being short in the back that the top of the car seat would still cause damage to leather seats. If you have fabric seats then this should work. Just an FYI for those who aren’t sure.

Below is the link of the Brica seat cover I am referring to.

      Thanks for the suggestion Mona!

Everyone can check their own seat’s safety/warranty info and go from there, but we love the Brica seat protector! It is very snug on the seat and has grips on both sides. We use ours on leather (we are not in a hot climate) and have had no sticking, no discoloration, etc.

Most after market products are NOT considered safe to use, and will actually void the warranty on your car seat. i believe this falls into that category, but would caution anyone thinking about purchasing this to double check beforehand.

    • Kelly

We had went to a car seat safety check done by the local police and they said not to use them.

      • Christina

Ditto! At the fire station car seat check they removed mine & said not to use.

        Safety first!

  4. Bessiek

Unfortunately I believe that what Jen said is true. I have leather seats and really wanted to get something like that but after research I learned that most car seats forbid u from using anything.my mail actually had one of those for the baby seat she keeps in her car and maybe I m wrong but I think it made the seat move too much left-right 😕

    • Bessiek

MIL as in mother in law..not mail… autocorrect!

    • Happymama

I had this exact one in for my car and it did that exact thing – lots of left/right movement. In sorry but I think these are so dangerous! To top it off, when I took it off, my tan leather had scuff marks which defeated the point.

What Jen and Bessiek say is true. If you are concerned about your car seat getting dirty, I read that you should use a receiving blanket instead

  6. Ashley

How is a receiving blanket, or anything else under the car seat any safer than the auto seat protector? Also, the safety first brand tells consumers to increase the incline on some of their seats to use a pool noodle or a rolled up towel, how is this considered safe and the mats are not?
