We have a Honeywell not this model. It was good until 3 months later. The motor starts to make so much noise. It’s a torture. Customer service is horrible because they require me to ship the unit back in my own expense. I say thank you but no thank you. The shipping cost is about half of the cost of a new unit.
If you can, open up the base and locate the fan. Most probably the fan needs cleaning and oiling. I had the same issue with my Crane cool mist humidifier. It works well now.HTH

I have this model and went through about 2 of them making loud noises during the first month but I just kept my receipt from Walmart to exchange. Kind of a pain to clean as well but works
