I bought this lawnmower and love it! I do admit that having to deal with the cord as I’m mowing is sort of a PITA, but the mower itself is powerful and very quiet and handled my lawn with no problems.

General thoughts on electric mowers: I have an Ego Powermower– it is cordless with a 20 min. battery charge time. My lawn is pretty large for an urban area and I can mow it ALMOST with one go. I looked into a lot of electric mowers when we were purchasing and would really recommend the cordless. Benefits on all of them though are the weight– I can practically jog behind ours because it’s so light! and also the storage. We do not have outside storage and the fact that it folds up and can go in my basement is awesome. We were also managing another property last summer and transporting ours was easy because when folded it fit in the trunk of my car.

I bought this mower last year, and we love it. We have just over a 1/2 acre, and there is a hill in the back. The cord is a bit of a PITA, but once you learn to cut near the outlet first, and work your way out (so you don’t run over the cord), you’re good to go. There are YouTube videos about this. It cuts evenly, and is SO much lighter than a gas powered mower, that you really only miss the self-propelled feature if you’re pushing it up a hill. You can’t let your grass get too long, or it really doesn’t have the power to cut it without challenging the engine. However, if you normally cut every 7-10 days, there will not be an issue.

Whatever you do, don’t buy any mower made by MTD. As for the battery operated rechargeable mowers? What an absolute joke . . . sure love the environment as you are forced to buy new batteries every year (do you have a clue as to the environmental impact of making these batteries . . . your better of burning diesel and it will also cost far less). We’ve all got a pile of “expired” rechargeable power tool batteries in our basements . . . This is like the old razor industry or printer industry rule . . . buy our junk for cheap and we’ll make a killing on selling you short-lived razors, ink cartridges and power tool/mower batteries.
I just purchased this as a bundle. I need self propelled and I wanted a battery and battery charger, included. When i put in search, it brought up walmart clearance and rollback , and i thought it looked like a fair deal. Did I get ripped?Every time I put my zip in I never get a good deal so I do not put it in!
