Chick-fil-A Family Challenge: No Cell Phone Distractions = FREE Ice Cream (Select Locations)
Did you know that Americans spend an average of 4.7 hours per day on their phone (according to this 2015 Informate Mobile Intelligence study)? If you’ve ever sat down for a meal with a friend, family member or colleague, and found yourselves glued to your phones instead of talking to one another, you may be interested in this Family Challenge that over 150 Chick-fil-A restaurants are launching across the United States.
Here’s how it works! Select Chick-fil-A operators are placing a “Cell Phone Coop” (small, square box) on each table with this challenge: enjoy a meal without cellphone distractions and receive a Free Chick-fil-A Icedream. In order to complete the challenge successfully, the cellphones must remain in the Coop untouched for the entire meal. Contact your local restaurant to see if they’re participating in this challenge.
I love Chick-fil-A, everytime they come up with wonderful ideas π
I know right!
Yep!
Part of the reason i like Chik-filet is because my kids could go play and I could use my phone, haha.
Lol!
Lol! π
Exactly my thought!
Lol!! π
I saw someone yesterday give back the toys from the kids meal and got an ice cream for each toy. Do all Chik-fil-a’s do that?
Every chick fil a I’ve been to does
Yes, my littles do that all the time!
Yes! All chick-fil-a restaurants will allow a child to have an ice dream rather than the toy
Yes….well at least mine does in bowling Green ky
Yes, as far as I know, I save up the toys from my kids meal order and turn them in for ice cream. Mind you my daughter is 17. LOLπ
This is freaking awesome! I’m totally doing it! I’m not sure my husband could make it. He might have to sit at a different table, lol. The kids would LOVE it!
My first thought is that this box would get accidentally thrown away as trash!
I can’t wait to go there. Ours just opened today. I’m surprising the hubby tonight with supper from there.
Jennifer I love that you called it supper. Don’t know where you’re from but most people call it dinner and my family has always called it supper, it’s nice to hear it from others.
It’s always been supper to me too. I’m from PA, but have lived in Ohio for many years.
It’s supper for me, too, but we’re southerners — SC, GA, and LA.
Supper here in mississippi and Alabama, too!
Love this idea!!
These days, it’s not just kids but even the adults r too busy on their phone to have a quiet peaceful meal or a snack
Thx Colling …Omg. I love THIS.. i am so going to make 1 for home @ dinner time. .Im thinking about using a happy meal box.. and having my 2 boys help me make it… decorate somehow… & then put my ph & my husbands in there . We love the restaurant..
You’re welcome!
What a great reminder! Thank you, Chick-fil-A, and thank you, Collin, for posting π
YW!
You can also turn in Happy Meal toys for ice cream.
I need one of these boxes for date night!!!! My husband is self employed and often takes calls for work in the evenings and weekends. That’s probably his only fault thought, he truly is a great guy π
Yes! I love chick fil a even more. We do this at home during meals and family game nights, even though it’s just mommy and daddy for now. We are working on being present with our kids.
Jennifer and Christie, it is ‘supper’ for me too!
Love it!!!
Love this! We should all be present during dinner. I noticed every person in my household was using a device at once one night…I think I get a pass though because my device was reading Hip2Save lol.
My Chickfila has free breakfast on Fridays in March, as they also did in February. Check with your local store.
Yet another reason to love chick fila!!
Like this idea it’s perfect
Chick-fil-a is awesome. So family oriented, love them!
