Any good reviews on the Cincinnati or St. Louis books? Our area doesn’t have one, but we are going both places for long weekends this summer. Think it’s worth it?
you can get the mobile version for $1.99 (?) / month and cancel anytime — I’d recommend looking into that, HTH
I used to buy this every year. The past 2 years, the books have had coupons for places that are closed, coupons that you can get for free else where or the coupons aren’t honored when presented. I wrote multiple emails that were never responded to. To me, it’s not worth it unless you buy it for dirt cheap, or go in with someone else and split the cost.
Sorry to hear that Heidi! Thanks so much for your honest feedback!
Heidi,
I completely agree. I have bought them for several years but the last 2 were not useful at all. They used to have good coupons but they are long gone and like you said the ones they have now aren’t very good and most weren’t even close to me although the book was for my area. I will no longer be buying these. I bought one cheap last year and the coupons were so bad I never even used a single one! Just like all coupons they are getting worse and worse with time. Make sure you look at these closely before you buy!
What book did you get? I’d love to hear from some others if this is true of multiple places.
I think it depends on the city. The Seattle Entertainment Book is full of Coupons and definitely worth $14. The Tulsa book has shrunk significantly over the last few years and IMHO, I am not sure that it would be worth the money (unless I used up all the fast food coupons). I really think some cities provide good value while others, not so much.
Yep, I had a pretty similar experience. Several didn’t work, many out of business, a lot could be found free elsewhere. Not worth it imo. If someone does buy it I very much recommend asking if they’ll accept the coupons before placing any orders.
I agree, and one year I bought some books that were missing a page worth of coupons the same page in every book. That page contained the reason I bought the books for a certain expensive restraunt. I called 3 people and none of them believed me that it was missing before they actually checked and then said they couldn’t do anything it was production error!!
I purchased mine for $10.40 last year on tax day. Your savings really depend on your shopping habits/needs. I had to get a tire replaced at Merchant’s tires, and I pulled up a coupon for $20 off the tire on the spot using the mobile coupon. Also, I purchased a mattress from Sleepy’s. I was able to get an additional 10% off with the coupon from the book, which saved me $120. Tires and mattresses are not items frequently purchased; however, you can potentially save big if you have the Entertainment Book. I always wait until the books go down in price to around $10. Not counting the Sleepy’s and Merchants that I used last year, I usually use a handful of coupons. I always come out ahead by a few bucks or so.
The book seems to be sold out in my area…. does the code not work for the digital version?
Atlanta sold out
Darn!
Does anyone know if the coupons in the entertainment book are able to be used in other cities?
For example if I buy a book for my city can I use the same coupons when I go in vacation to Florida?
A lot of the coupons are only for specific locations (even for chains), at least in the Boston book.
Anyone have anything good to say about the so cal book?
Sold out in my area. I paid $5 last year around June/July. I got my money’s worth for the end of the year (mostly from mini golf, go carting, and batting cages that they don’t otherwise have coupons out for) but I honestly wouldn’t pay anymore than that.
Thanks for your review!
Go through ShopatHome.com for an extra 18% off!
ebates is 17.5 for those who use that instead
I wait for these to go down to $5… that way I’m not sad if I don’t use it, but there is usually a coupon for a free coffee and frozen yogurt so at that price I can’t complain!
Yes, I am holding out for $5 !!!
I had purchased 2 New Orleans books on Black Friday because they had a good sale. We got plane tickets/hotel for our family of 4 for Christmas and had the books for stocking stuffers. Entertainment.com had all of the coupons listed on their website. We were excited because the BOGO Audubon Zoo and Steamboat Natchez were on our to do list. Well, after browsing the books after Christmas, the coupons were not in the books…as well as some other ones STILL listed on the website. When i contacted them, they said their return policy was 30 days and they removed the vendors names from their website immediately. Wont buy from them again. I’m stuck with 2 useless books and out $30.
