I have a few questions for you ladies, if you would help me 🙂 I’m wondering if I have to point out app coupons to the cashier, I heard that they would automatically apply but when I tried the $1 off gold emblem snack deal this week it wasn’t applied. I’m sorry, I just don’t really know if I have to point them out or not…I normally shop at rite aid and I know they don’t have control of load to card coupons so that’s why I’m kinda confused. And my other question is that I just got a 25% off cvs purchase coupon, only good on non sale items. So I was wondering if I used it with the cover girl sale (get $5 ecb wyb $15) would my total have to be over $15 even after that coupon? I believe I can use it since it’s not on sale bogo (right?) but I’m not sure if the ecb will still print since it will bring my total under $15 before manufactures coupons. Any help is appreciated! A cashier at my CVS told me that the app coupons that I send to my card show up highlighted in green on her screen but she has to actually select each coupon in order for them to be applied. I usually make a list of my app coupons on the outside of an envelope that I take with me to CVS so that I remember to tell the cashier to apply them. (I have had the same thing happen when I don’t remind the cashier to apply these coupons.) I also write on my envelope the anticipated amount of ECB’s I should receive from planned purchases that visit. On the inside of my envelope I put all my coupons and ECB’s that I am going to use for that visit. It can be very confusing when you get up to the register if you don’t have all your coupons, ECB’s, and app coupons together in one place so that you remember to use everything. As far as using the 25% off coupon and taking advantage of the $5 ECB when you buy $15 in Cover Girl products, it has been my experience that the ECB’s are generated based on the retail price, pre coupons. So you should be able to buy $15 in cover girl, use the 25% off coupon, and receive your ECB’s. Keep in mind if at any time your ECB’s are not automatically generated with your purchase, make sure you ask the cashier about it and she can print any ECB’s for you that should have been generated but were not, Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for the clarification..I always had my EB’s printed when purchasing regular priced item even after using CVS coupons..Recently I had a different experience where made a $13 Cosmetics purchase to meet the EB requirement(Get $3EB for $12 purchase) and used a $4 off CVS Cosmetic cpn. The total came to $9+ tax and didnt have the EB’s printed. The bottom of receipts says spend $3 or more to earn $3 EB. The cashier didn’t help me much with it. I left feeling sad that CVS changed their EB/Cpn policy.

App coupons are shown to cashier at the end, I mention I have coupons on the card, so they don’t miss the screen. They have to add them to the transaction. Note they can’t override them and they have to be loaded before transaction starts or they won’t show.
% can be used on ecbs deals that are regular price. There isn’t a minimum spend.
Regular price is one price on the tag, can’t be bogo nor $/$$ spend more and save – some regular prices are spend more ones, still excluded.
Ecbs produce at 98% of spend requirement BEFORE any coupons. My subtotal will be zero and they still print.

To Susan Jones: I frequently have problems with my App coupons not coming off, so I use an old CVS redbox coupon now and write a reminder “coupon” ahead of time to put it on the bottom of my stack just like a real coupon. When everything is done, I ask the cashier very nicely: “Did $X off of ___ pop up on your screen?” I learned this after buying Physicians Formula two weeks in a row and being told (after paying) both times, “No, it didn’t come off. You can save that coupon for next time.” Now if it doesn’t pop up, they can take it off manually or remove the item from my transaction.

I have had the same problem with app coupons not coming off, even after reminding the cashier of them. It’s very confusing at the end of a cvs transaction now. The system adds things and subtracts, like its “thinking” and spits out a total. It’s frustrating coming home to realize the coupons weren’t applied. I have called cvs 800 # three times to complain and they have given me courtesy extra care bucks. Maybe if more people complain, they will come up with a better system
This has happened to me more than once too with the constant adding/subtracting at the register. You really don’t know what came off and what didn’t until you look at the app again and see something you wanted to use still there. I had a cashier get so frustrated with it she flat-out lied to me about what came off and I had no way of knowing until the transaction was already done. Think I’ll call the 800# next time this happens.

Does anyone know how to see what your beauty club total is or how you get the ecb? Its hard to find anything online about it, and my receipts and the app do not show anything.
my app tracks the beauty club spending. if you click on the extracare center in the app (where you download coupons to your card) one of the spaces in there is the beauty club spending. if you tap that, it will flip over and show you how much you’ve spent. once you spend the $50, you’ll get the $5 ecb next time you go to the store and scan your card at the machine.
On cvs dot Com, log in and click extrabucks and scroll down. Make sure your card is linked to the online account. It does take about 2 days for the total to update.
Thanks collin for all match-ups!! Actually because of some mannual issue I changed my phone and I downloaded the app again but I noticed my all loaded coupons and $5 EB earned by beauty purchase are gone., now nothing in my account no history. Any body faced that?

Health care is probably anything in the pharmacy area, like OTC meds (pain, allergy etc), first aid. Formula would be considered baby care. I’ve found those specific % offers will only work on the items how they have them categorized on cvs.com.

The Colgate Optic White calculation is wrong – should be $0.74 instead of $0.99.
There are a few CVS coupons that printed for me from the coupon machine last week (and hopefully for others) that would make some of the deals free or money makers.
1) Get 2 Colgate Optic White $3.99
Use 2 $0.75/1 coupons
Use $2 off 2 Colgate Optic White toothpaste from coupon machine
Pay $4.48 and get back $5 ECB, which makes it $0.52 money maker
2) I got $3 off $12 Suave hair care from the coupon machine
This would make the Suave deal $1 MM. Unfortunately, I can’t do that deal because I never got the $1.50/1 Suave coupons 🙁
3) I also got $3 off any Schick product. The online prices that Colin shows here are way lower than what I normally see at my CVS, so this may or may not be a good deal, but if your store prices the razors up to $11, this will be free.
Also, there is a new coupon for $2/1 Speed Stick GEAR, which makes it free.
Don’t forget the $3/3 Hallmark cards. My CVS has a ton of $0.99 cards and they will be free. This makes for a nice filler if you have $4/$20 or $5/$25 coupons to use.

It will print at 98% of the requirement, so for a $30 deal, the minimum is $29.40. 🙂
I purchased three cover girl eye shadow kits (3K, 4K), the coupons were not taking. The cashier said excludes one kit, I said yes, these are 3K and 4K. The manager came over and did and over ride of the coupons. With my coupons & previous $5ECB, paid $3.77 for 3 eye shadows and received another $5ECB…getting ready for mother’s day…makes great gifts 🙂
Anyone have issues with coupons.com? It asks me for cell phone number before printing off coupons. I use republic wireless, which feeds off Sprint towers…so it is sometimes not recognized as valid cell number, even though it is. So, I can print anything? ugh

I have a “Household, Spend $30 Get 10 EB” tracking on my receipt. This is separate from the “Products, Spend 30 Get 10 EB” for this week (4/17-4-23). It says I’ve spent 29 and need 1.00 to get the reward! Ahhh! What is this? What do I need to buy?
You bought Scott last week and is tracking as that ! Last week was buy 30 get $10 bucks but, the limit was higher it was limit 5 times ! But. I doubt if you buy a 1 dlr that it will give you bucks ! But next week it be buy 20 get 5 back Scott so , it it doesn’t generate the bucks and you purchase that may be the reason !!!
I’m new to couponing and I notice people that post their reciept there taxes are so low. I live in the state of IL. but everytime I go to CVS my taxes are so high. For example my total was around $95, after cpns and ecb my total came down to $35 but my taxes were $9 and some change. Taxes in IL. are 10% but 10% of 35 is $3 something right? Is there a reason why?

In many states, you’re charged tax PRE-coupon, so that could be the same for you. 10% of $95 is $9.50. The only time my tax is figured differently is when I use TRUE store coupons. True store coupons seem to be your beauty bux, quarterly bux, if you do the pharmacy rewards ($5 for every 10 RX’s filled) and some offers from the coupon center. You can tell by looking above the fine print, right side, if it has MFR. If it doesn’t 99.9% of the time it’ll be a store coupon. On Monday, I purchased 2 $3.99 Colgate Sensitve Toothpastes (used 2 .50/1 q’s), a $2/2 Colgate scanner q (which was not MFR) and $4 quarterly bux. Normally my tax would be on $7.98 (9.75% = $0.78), but my tax was only $0.19 b/c the store coupons deducted from the subtotal $7.98 – $4 – $2 = $1.98, and that’s how tax was figured. HTH!
Most states (not all) calculate tax BEFORE coupons. You paid tax on $95 (pre-coupon total), not your post-coupon total of $35. That’s how Maine does it also; however, our tax is only 5.5%.
