This product has microbeads in it, which are plastic beads too small to be filtered out by water treatment plants. They end up in our rivers and oceans by the billions, then are eaten by fish and other water animals. Please don’t buy this product or other “gentle exfoliators” with polyethylene.

      Thanks for spreading the word!

Collin: thank you for posting a good deal! I won’t be buying because of the micro beads but your effort for finding good deals is appreciated more than you will ever know. THANK YOU!

        You’re welcome Jenn 😉

For what it’s worth, I have heard that sugar added to facial scrub will give the same effect as micro beads. Not positive though so use at your own risk.

I read that they are no longer allowed to produce products with the beads in them. Maybe this is old stock. If you do not buy it, someone else will. I think people should get on the cities for using salt on the roads that is more harmful. people should just use their brains when the roads are snowy and icy. stay home quit running up to the store plan ahead, I think very very few roads should be treated. dangers for the environment are everywhere.

according to Wikipedia, microbeads of polyethylene have to be phased out of cosmetic uses by July 2017 in the US. they are still currently in use by several companies. states that are banning the sale of these types of products will not have the ban go into effect until 2018-19.
(i know Burt’s Bees and St. Ives and others use things like ground peach pits or other environmentally-safe things that work the same as microbeads without the use of plastics.)

Not everyone has the choice to “stay home”. Being essential personal people’s live depend on me getting to my job.

I was just thinking that! Microbeads are no good.
