This Kenmore is made by Frigidaire. Frigidaire makes horrible refrigerators. Do not buy it!
I agree! We have had ours for 5 years now and i’ve hated it. Yes it keeps food ice cold but the freezer is a nightmare. There’s some type of issue with the ice/hose/valve mechanism that every two weeks i have a hockey rink of ice (1″ thick!!!) on the inside under the bottom drawer. And when that happens the drawer doesn’t close right so you have a pool of water on the floor all the time. We live with a towel ALWAYS underneath. Its’s a nightmare! I had a mechanic come in to replace a valve and 3 months later it started again. Google this issue and you’ll see. I don’t know how they haven’t issued a recall yet. Kenmore is not the Kenmore it used to be. BUYER BEWARE!

I totally agree we have this same one and the ice situation is a nightmare.
We have a Kenmore refrigerator made in 1987. It was in our house when we bought it and we will be replacing at some point with a more updated modern refrigerator. But it still works amazing and the ice maker is still going strong. Goes to show that they were made very well, at least back then. We were considering buying another Kenmore since this one has lasted so many years but we will definitely read up on them more.

I have a kenmore and it’s horrible. And sears customer service is awful. They came and “fixed” it multiple times each only lasting about 3 months. It’s like they waited us out until our warranty was up. I will never shop at sears again and try to warn people.

Have had for five years and yes it is a terrible refrigerator! Getting a new one this month and it will not be this brand. Do not buy this, you’ll regret it!!! Ice machine is the main problem.
Kenmore refrigerators are usually GREAT except when they’re made by Frigidiaire. Not all of them are made by them. Buy a Kenmore that’s made by a different manufacture.
Get a Samsung. We love ours and not a single problem for 2 1/2 years. Bosch dishwasher has been our nightmare.
Iffy on Samsung….the mechanics work fine, but the plastic starts cracking after year 5. Same with dryer control panel that is plastic- cracks after a few years.
Forgot any help from customer service, despite pictures & emails…”we will forward this and get back to you” – never heard back and that was 3+yrs ago.
DO NOT BUY THIS!!! I bought one not even 3 years ago and it was making noises 2 months in. They wouldn’t do anything to fix it. I paid about 3000 for this and the compressor went out a couple months ago. I had it fixed at my expense through Sears and it’s going out again. Looks nice but is JUNK!!!! DO NOY BUY!!!!!!!!
I have had this fridge for over a year. Not one problem. Actually really like it… but do not like Sears. It warranty replaced a fridge that was also warranty replaced.

I am so glad that people are NOT recommending a Kenmore fridge. my 5 year old ” elite” fridge broke down and was not repairable. About one month later, the same thing happened to my friend who happened to own the same fridge. UGH
