I just don’t get the prime pantry idea. I am a prime member and get subscribe and save with free shipping and 15 percent discount with 5 items. How does prime pantry differ other than having to pay for shipping (except this time)??

    • Katie

I usually use the free shipping promos (only when I would buy those items anyway or they’re really cheap) and stack the 5.99 discounts for choosing slower shipping. It’s not as cheap as S&S generally, but the quantities are more reasonable – if you don’t need a case of granola bars, pantry makes more sense off the bat, because if they go to waste you didn’t save money.

I absolutely refuse to pay shipping when I’ve already paid for prime. I do like the other person said. I’ll either use the free shipping credit from an order or the buy 5 credit or combine both. It’s just finding 5 items I use at a reasonable price out of the list that can be tricky

How do you find the 5 items? Are they the items that are pictured at the top of the page in different categories? Like “food and beverages” “Household & Pets”, etc?

I agree with you, the idea of paying for shipping is not a great one. I only use it when they have this promotion. And even better when I have the $5.99 pantry credit from using standard shipping

I grabbed 10 cans of chicken of the sea tuna for $7. Not an insane deal but cheaper than I normally get them.

    • Pam

      Thanks for mentioning the tuna!

Can someone help me? I’m a new Prime member and am unfamiliar with Prime Pantry. I too have a $5.99 Prime Pantry credit. Does this mean I can apply the credit to the items I select and still get the free July shipping promotion? TIA for any enlightenment.

    • jenny

Yes, both promos can be combined.

    • Me

Keep in mind the cheapest your order will ever be is $5.99. If you try to get free or close to free, they will only take off the amount to make your total $5.99. Example: if your total is $7.99 before the credit they will deduct $2, not $5.99. Hope that makes sense.

I literally just placed an order an hour ago because they have the Hi-C Ecto Cooler (don’t judge 😉 back in stock on Prime Pantry. I just emailed them to see if they will credit my account. Thanks!

I love stacking Prime Pantry codes. I choose the slower shipping option when it is available and right now they will give you a $5.99 Prime Pantry credit. I stack that with the free shipping code and end up getting $12 worth of products for free. I also used a $5 gift card I obtained through Bing Rewards and paid $1.67 for 5 cans of Pringles, a box of cereal, and 4 bags of Veggie Straws.

  7. Kimberly

Would there be a reason I can not use the promo code? I am a prime member thanks

    • ShoppyMcSaver

You have to pick the items that are specifically eligible for the free shipping promotion. You have to have five of them to use the free shipping code.

  8. Me

Awesome! I have a few $5.99 prime pantry credits to combine with this

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet!

Can i only use one 5.99 credit at a time and why will it not take my code? I chose 5 items from the link…

    • Heidi

I couldn’t get it to work for me either. I don’t know how people are able to stack credits from previous orders and promo codes for free shipping.
