You don’t want to have to buy the color cartridges for a laser printer.
Not sure about color cartridges, but the black ones last a long time. They are pricey, but you aren’t changing them as frequently as ink jet cartridges, and the quality blows away ink jets.
I have this printer it is amazing. The color cartridges are not that expensive for a laser printer either. It’s quiet, easy to hook up, and prints amazing images. HOWEVER if you watch Staples occasionally puts this printer on sale for 119.00. I have a Brother laser printer and the cartridges cost more than the printer, I tried the off brand cartridges and even though they were super expensive it made a mess. The Dell is far more effective printing and affordable.

Toner always costs more than the printer really no matter how you slice it. Laser costs more, but like the others said, they last longer and it’s better quality.
