  I vote for an actual. As kids grow, your needs will change. KidCraft is great quality, so you’ll spend the $ now, and then donate later. I have a bookshelf we got w/ the baby shower and I’m still using. It was a lot of organizational bins before, but now it’s 75% books, and 25% bins for the random stuff.

   I think it depends on how many books you want to store. We have one of these and a regular book shelf. This one doesn’t hold as many books but it is much easier for my kids to put their books away. With the regular book shelf they have a harder time putting the books back in a spot and sometimes when they take out a book a bunch fall out. Hope this helps.

  We have tons of books, but I rotate them. I rotate based on what we are learning about and seasons so I usually only have 30-45 books out at a time
