I have this machine and really like it. It is my first one and has been great to learn on. It has little pictures and numbers to help you remember how to thread the bobbin – which is super helpful when you’re trying to learn!

Oh awesome! Thanks for the great feedback Katie! Glad to hear how well it has worked for you!

    Katie-
I was just curious and would love your Opinion. It said in the comments that it’s fast to use and might be hard for beginners how do you feel about that?

Jer, I don’t agree with that, as I’ve learned to sew on it fairly easily. It is not a super smooth or quiet machine – but it sews very well and easily! You can’t beat it for the price – especially for someone interested in starting to sew who isn’t ready to make a big investment in a fancy machine!

I also have this machine (thanks to a deal Collin posted here) and learned on it. It doesn’t have speed control, but I haven’t found that to be an issue. I just had to get used to how sensitive the pedal is. I also took a sewing 101 class at Jo-Ann Fabrics (which I think cost $35, but they give you some free supplies/materials and coupons) and I brought my machine and learned some more tips and tricks about this specific machine.

Would you recommend this for a 12 year old that is learning?
