I am looking for a new artificial tree this year. Does anyone have a recommendation when to buy one and what brand is the “fullest”? Thanks for any ideas.

    • Kris

Kay, I got a GE one at Sears and was really happy! It has different textures and is very full. It wasn’t particularly cheap but worth every penny! So easy to put together

    • Vicki

If you have a Kmart nearby, on Thanksgiving Day only, they often have an artificial Christmas tree sale. That’s where I bought the one I still use, eleven years ago.

    • Colleen

I’m looking for one also! We had ours for about 6 years before I finally tossed it last year. Hoping to find a great deal around Thanksgiving. Big Lots usually has nice trees and if you pair a sale with a 20% off coupon they sometimes offer it should make for a good deal.

      • Kay

        Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

    • nydia

I bought one at target on clearance the week before christmas 3 years ago and it was wonderful. Really full and beautiful branches. Last Christmas I purchased the exact same one for my mom and was shocked at the difference. The branches were thin and had a lot of empty areas. Hopefully this year they bring the better quality trees back.
They always seem to go 50% off about a week or two before christmas.

    • Elizabeth

There’s a website called “Hayneedle” and I got a great tree after Christmas last year.

I’ve ordered a tree from Five Star before and it was amazing!! The tree lasted forever and I live in central Texas!

    • Patty

      Thanks for that info.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Wow! Awesome to hear how long it lasted Shannon! Thanks for the feedback!

    • Crystal

      Thanks so much.
We live on the NC coast and it’s hard to get nice trees here.
I have to drive over an hour and I usually end up with a grocery store tree for around $40.
Last year, I bought one from the local high school and paid about the same as this one delivered.
I bet this one will be nicer. At least, I’m hoping so. We always have a New Year’s Eve party so maybe this one will last.

  3. ashley

Wow, we are spoiled. I’ve never paid more than $25 locally for an 8 ft real tree each year.

    • Stacey

Really where do you live that they are just $25? Lucky ☺️

    • Just Me

We can chop our own tree ( if you’re into that) for $26-$40 depending on size and type.

    • stephanie

Same with us 🙂 yes, we get a lot of rain but it’s nice to only pay $30 for a really nice big tree.

  4. Melissa

This is a great price but I always like to pick out my own 🎄

  5. Crystal

I paid $63.20 for the 6-7 foot Fraser Fir Christmas Tree.
I checked on shipping on it said in my rural area it was $20 but when I checked out, it gave me free shipping when I used the welcome20 code and $15.80 discount off the tree. I don’t know if it will do that for everyone but I’m so happy.

    • Jv

You paid for the voucher! Now you have to redeem it and from there the shipping will show.

“Once you get your voucher, head on over to FiveStarChristmasTrees.com and redeem it by Thursday, December 8th (or by Friday, November 18th to preorder).”

I’ve wanted to try this service for a while and finally went for it this year with this deal. Was able to use WELCOME20 and save almost $18 on the 7-8 ft. tree since I’m new. Thanks,Collin, I’m excited to get my tree to my door!☺

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So awesome to hear that! You’re very welcome!

  7. ryankimm

We pay $35 for our 5-6 foot Fraiser locally. I feel bad for those who find this a good deal. Tree prices should never be that much!

    • Another Michelle

I guess that depends on your perspective. Cutting trees down shouldn’t be cheap.

  8. Jv

Wooohoo! Risky but I decided to get in on this. It’s better than lugging my gremlins to a tree tent, have them run around driving me crazy and fill my SUV with pine needles. I’m all about choosing the less stressful route in life now 😂 And this fits the bill.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Glad you could snag the deal! 😉

  9. Tess

I would love to see a post that highlights the best deals for a good quality artificial trees.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Great idea Tess! Thanks for the suggestion! 😉

  10. Lorraine Taggart Measor

We go into the bush and cut our own balsam tree……usually about 71/2 ft tall! Beautiful and very natural!

  11. lovingandlaughing

This deal still seems to be active. I just bought a voucher for a 6 to 7 foot tree for $63 with the sale and the promo code. A tree delivered to my door will be helpful this season!

  12. Katy

Did anyone receive their tree? We got ours and were highly disappointed. They brought a new one today, that was no better than the first. It looks like a Charlie Brown tree–short and super thin. 🙁

  13. Candice

    **Buyer beware**
Collin please read the reviews on this five star Christmas tree Co. I wish I would have. I bought this deal and I was a horrible decision. I prefer ordered in October, it is now December 8 and I haven’t recieved my tree. Customer service offered me a $15 refund which I never recieved, which in my opinion is nothing being that now I have to go out and buy another tree because Christmas is almost here and my 2 year old keeps asking why we don’t have a tree. I have read all the horrible reviews on the trees and customer service and wish I would have done more research but I was about to have my second baby and figured it was convenient but now I am out 100 dollars and wasted time I could have had enjoying our Christmas tree.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

So sorry to hear about this Candice 🙁 Thanks so much for the feedback.

  14. lovingandlaughing

Ugh…..found out today they will not honor my order and I will not be delivered a tree! So annoying and such a waste of time! Collin, never advertise this company again!

    • crystalc3

I had problems with this company too! I was so excited for my tree, but they somehow SAY they didn’t receive my order in time,so I would’ve had to pay $50 for “late” shipping or they’d ship a smaller tree to me,but I would’ve had to place a regular order at the original $150+ price and supposedly would’ve gotten a “partial refund”. I don’t understand the partial part because then what’s the point of not paying for shipping on the bigger one?! I don’t trust they’d actually return my money anyway AND I don’t have that much money at this time of year to use randomly right now. I’m really disappointed, waste of time and now I won’t have a tree this year:( Definitely just buying in person next year! Sad you can’t trust companies to provide quality service anymore.
