I have the instapot, and it is nice, but my parents got the power pressure cooker XL and I have theirs is wayyy better. Food is always sticking in the instapot but in theirs it comes right out because it is nonstick. I wish I had theirs! And they got it for $68 at SAMs club, a 8qt and I paid more for a 6qt. Also disappointing is the lack of recipe book and instructions with the instapot it is basically you are on your own.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for the honest review!

    • RZ

Non-stick cookware releases toxic compounds that may be linked w/ cancer. If you use stainless steel the correct way, then food will not stick. Otherwise, it can become stuck and burn even in a nonstick pan.

Also, the Instant Pot comes w/ a recipe book, a manual, and quick reference guides…not sure why yours didn’t.

    • Fm

I agree Non-stick is dangerous. I did my research and that’s why I bought Instant Pot a while ago and it doesn’t ever stick. Cleans easily!

  2. Naomi

I prefer stainless to non-stick. Healthier

Also, I get all my recipes from Pinterest and Instant Pot Community on Facebook.

I LOVE my instant pot. Seriously, it changed my life (cooking life)

    • Heather

Do u have this one? I am wondering about the duo vs the lux. I prefer stainless steel over nonstick as well.

  3. Louise

Walmart is only 5 quart and Amazon is 6 quart

    • VW

      The Lux-60 is 6qt. The Lux-50 is 5qt

    • Cheri

Actually it looks like they are both 6 quart

Are both these the same?I have no clue abt these things but heard its good

  5. Anne

I am in love with my crockpot but I have been extremely smartpot curious! Will I love it?? Is this a great price or just okay? Tia!

    • Naomi

      It’s a great price & you’ll love it

    • Gina

You will absolutely love it, the price is great and I don’t have the sticking issue like one of the commenters.

    • Becky

This is an amazing price!! Ever since I got my Instant Pot, I haven’t touched my CrockPot. The Instant Pot gets you the same results much quicker and the food tastes better in my opinion. We love ours!!

    • Anne

Thanks so much for the input!!

  6. TYM

Instant pot and pressure cooker, which is better? how about Bella Pressure cooker? anyone recommend? please ! TIA!

    • Aysha

Both are the same..if you are referring to electric pressure cooker. Instant pot is great. Nonstick is good but will eventually wear out. That’s why I prefer stainless steel. You can cook food up to 60% faster in a pressure cooker. The midea pressure cooker is the parent company of instant pot and actually heats up to the same psi that stovetop cookers do. I have a midea and definitely love it.

      • Thinn

        Thanks a lot Aysha!

      • Jacob

Midea is not the parent company of Instant Pot. Midea manufacturers Instant Pots for the Instant Pot company under contract.

    • Heather

Instant pot is a pressure cooker-just the brand name.

      • Thinn

        Thanks a lot Heather!

  7. Sara

    Love my Instant Pot

    • Darby Dugan

Liz, I have both. I got the Instant Pot first. LOVE it. Saw the Home Depot deal and ordered four – one for me, one for a sister, a niece and a great niece. I’ve had both of them going for a couple days and can see no difference. The only advantage I can see is the Instant Pots featured on this post do not have the yogurt setting while the Magic Chef does. Happy Shopping!

      • Liz

Darby, Thank you for the feedback/review!

  8. Cami

I have been wanting a crock pot for a while now and was going to get one soon…what’s the difference between a crock pot and this pot? I had never heard of this one before. Thanks in advance!!

    • Pamela

One difference is that lead can leak into the food from the ceramic inner container of a crock pot. The insta pot has a stainless steel pot that does not contain lead.

  9. MommaNguyen

Will the work for canning? How many and what size jars will fit in it?

    • Thia

No this is NOT for canning. And this is an amazing price. It’s actually the lowest price it has ever been.

  10. Lolita

We are a family of 9, is this too small?

    • Thia

Yes this would be small in size for a family of 9, they do offer it in 8 quart but not for this price, I would keep my eyes open for it though – totally worth it!

  11. Ashley G

I see the 6 in 1 does not have the “Yogurt” button that the 7 in 1 does. Has anyone been able to get around this, meaning make yogurt in the 6 in 1?

    • Heather

Oh…you may have just kept me from making this purchase. I was looking forward to getting rid of my yogurt maker.

    • Gina

Thanks, Ashley. I didn’t notice that. I think I’ll pass on this model and wait for a deal on the ones with yogurt making capacity.

      • t.cooper

You can make yogurt in this one. It just lacks the yogurt button. There are tutorials available.

  12. Chrisi Erlanson

Are these the exact same model, one just comes with mitts?

  13. Cynthia Lewis

  14. Kelly

Why doesn’t it show for $59 on this link? I’m getting prices starting at $101

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Darn! Looks like it is gone from Amazon but still available from Walmart. Hope that helps!

      • Kelly

Thanks! Just ordered from Walmart. Appreciate the info – can’t wait for it to get here!!!!

        • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

          YW!

  15. Carol W

Still $59 at Walmart, free shipping. My husband just bought my Christmas present! Thanks for posting, I was looking for one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome Carol!

  16. Tamy

Thank you Hip2Save for letting us know about the instapot at Amazon this morning.
This will be my 2nd instapot the other is the 7in1 which I bought in July. Was not thinking about a 2nd pot….. Mentioned it to my hubby
….he asked “is it a good price? I said yes. He said “then order it!”
He surprised me…… but he loves what I have made so farπŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹
It will be her at the end of the month.
Now I will really need to name them😊

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How sweet! You’re very welcome! πŸ™‚

  17. Elaine

Anyone know a good recipe book for vegetarian meals? I got an instant pot as a wedding gift and have only used it for sweet potatoes. Other than chili and stew, I’m having difficulty finding recipes.

    • daltonjsmom

Elaine, you might look at FB Instant pot communities. There are about a million of them–it’s like a cult. πŸ™‚

  18. Sandy

The 7 in 1 on Amazon is now $69. That has rave reviews!!!
