My fingers are crossed the echo comes in before then! I ordered it a cpl weeks ago when it said it would be in the 22nd but now its saying not till after christmas!

I ordered a fire stick for my parents two days ago, it was back ordered and wasn’t supposed to be shipped for a couple weeks. Just got an update and I should receive in the mail by Tuesday. Hopefully the same will happen for you, good luck!

I ordered the echo dot on Thursday when it was $49 on Amazon. When I saw the price went to $39 I emailed customer service. They said as soon as it was delivered I just needed to email them and they would refund the difference.
Fyi, There’s a few other sites matching the echo price.

I already have the Echo but looking at adding another…. What do people recommend the dot or the tap?
I have the Dot & we Love it. I hear the only difference between dot & echo is that Echo has better sound quality? So it’s essentially also a Bluetooth Speaker. The dot you can connect to a surround sound system with a jack? I have been using Dot with no problem. I haven’t had to turn it all the way up. Also you can pair to another Bluetooth Surround speaker if you want louder sound? The only thing I dislike is that DOT has to be plugged in all the time, otherwise it’ll turn off if disconnect from power plug. It’d be nice if you can disconnect & put anywhere without plugging in.

Does anybody know if the dot keeps a shopping list like the echo does? And you don’t need to have an echo to use this correct?
The dot can do anything the echo does. The only difference is the speaker quality. Hope that helps!
Besides being a speaker, what is the point of these? I want to want one, but I have no clue what exactly it is and the website doesn’t really say except you tell it to give you the nearest pizza shop etc?
For me, it’s just very convenient for playing music. I say “Alexa, play ____” “Alexa, volume 4” and I don’t have to deal with messing with my phone. My 13 year old son plays Jeopardy and some word games on it, he asks “Alexa, define/spell ____ ” instead of asking me. I set timers when cooking, and add various things to my to-do list and grocery list as I think of them. You have an app on your phone which is connected to it, so you can view those lists and stuff. I got one for organization purposes.
Alexa is also like a hub for smart home products. I have her turn lights on and off. She also adjusts the thermostat when I ask her. We love Echo!!
