Thank you SO much! FINALLY got my hands on two (one for each of my daughters). They both asked Santa for one, but Santa can’t pay ridiculously inflated eBay prices, so now the Easter Bunny will be helping him deliver!!

    • Francisco

That’s the spirit and attitude people should have. Congrats… caving in for all these “bullies” it’s what created the crazy prices these and the NES had over the hollidays.. But people give in too easy.. I will wait for all the craziness to be over to get my NES.. I can totally leave without it for a few months… did not have it before, I can live without for a bit longer.

      • Ami

I caved and bought an NES on eBay. It was the only item my fiancé really wanted. The man has everything he will need for years to come and we both work from home so investing in 3-4 nice outfits a year is plenty. So I bought.. it’s definitely a disappointment. We were too rusty to play it and it’s very dated which we expected. We just couldn’t believe how dated it was in terms of graphics and colors.

        • Brandon

It is supposed to be dated. They brought back the 8-bit on that unit. People bought it for nostalgia purposes and as a collector item.

      • Brandon

Bullies? Is anyone forcing you to buy their product?

        • Bethany

Yeah I don’t think bullies was the right term. More like capitalism free commerce lol.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Aww, super glad you could score them for your girls Jessica! You’re welcome!

  2. Bridgetknepp

Thanks, got one. I guess staying up late to fold laundry finally paid off! Although the fact that I just spent $60 on a stuffed animal is driving me crazy! The things we do for our kids!😜

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Happy you could grab one! YW!

  3. Ashley

Yay! I was just trying to think of something for my daughter’s 9th birthday next month and had forgotten that she had asked for one of these for Christmas. She’ll be totally surprised! Thank you!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      How exciting! You’re welcome Ashley!

  4. Sam

These are clearanced at some stores already

  5. Lena

My 10 years old daughter played for about a month or less and have no interest in it no any more 🙁
Good thing I didn’t bought it her sister did.

    • Katie

We got an hour worth of playtime before it went to a donation bin. She had 0 interest in it after it hatched. And she asked to get rid of it.

    • brianna

Isn’t it funny how a kid will begin and want a toy really really bad and then when they get it they have no interest in it. Same thing happened with the American Girl doll we splurged on for Christmas for my daughter. We took it out of the packaging for her and she hasn’t played with it and we even got her some outfits and accessories for it. Waste of money!

      • Jenn

My daughter did that with her AG stuff when she was younger but now she plays with every day! 😀 Make sure kids know how to train the Hatchimal = keeps interest.

      lol

Someone gave one to my son this past weekend and I have to say I am glad it has an on/off switch. This thing is more needy than my 6 week old baby! I don’t get how it was the most sought after gift of Christmas…I’m ready to throw it against the wall!

    • Heather C

Buahahahahahahaha! Thanks for giving me a great morning laugh 😂. I have teens, but I SO remember those kinds of toys. Now I just wanna throw my TEENS against the wall 😉

    • MommySpendsLess

LOL. I got roped into egg-sitting Christmas morning so my 7.5yo daughter could unwrap her other presents. If there’s an off switch on the egg we didn’t see it. But since it hatched my daughter loves it. She was super excited on Christmas and she’s played with it for at least a few minutes almost every day since then. This past weekend she brought it with us to a family get together and made it dance for her 2yo cousin who started laughing and dancing with it. Easily worth $60 for us (it helps that my mom stumbled on one weeks before Christmas – I may have had a different perspective if we’d lined up at 4am). Our local Walmart had 5-6 sitting in their spot in the toy aisle a week or so ago – no drama. My daughter wanted to use her Christmas money to buy a second one but we convinced her to wait until they came out with version 2. I think it depends on your kid – our DD is super into stuffed animals, cute things and nurturing. I remember seeing them in a parenting magazine and thinking it’s be perfect for her months before they became popular.

I’ve seen them on the shelves at Walmart and Target since after Christmas. OTOH, still can’t find a NES Classic. I think we will have the Switch in our hands before one of those…

    • Melanie

Keep checking brickseek. I got an NES from Target yesterday. When I Checked it at 8am, it said they had one and I thought to myself “by the time I get dressed and over there it will be gone”. So I ate breakfast and checked at 9am and it said they still had it. Took a chance and drove over there and lo and behold it was still locked up on the shelf. Don’t lose hope 😀

    • Bethany

I still have an original 1980’s NES with tonnes of games and I love it! How does the new one compare?

  9. Melissa

My 8 year old got one for Xmas. The hatching part was fun and she enjoyed it. Played with it for about an hour that day and hasn’t played with it since. My 2 year old twins enjoy it more. They love taking care of it. Too babyish for my 8 year old maybe? My 5 year old also only liked the hatching part. Just my two cents. (P.s. I knew my 8 year old would be that way so I was totally prepared, obviously every kid is different)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks so much for sharing your experience Melissa! Good to know!

  10. tipaye

If anyone has an already-hatched owlicorn that works properly, I’ll gladly buy it from you. t.ipaye@yahoo.com Thanks!

  11. Michelle

My Walmart had these on the shelf for $48.88… Maybe check in store first… HTH

    • jen

my walmart had some as well (Nashville, tn). They had 2-3 different ones, maybe 10 total.

  12. Workaholic

I got one. I didn’t cave during the holidays because I refuse to wait in a line for anything, much less a stuffed animal. This one is free shipping to my house and its a great incentive as for my child to do better in her school.

  13. Taya

Rather wait for the price to go down

  14. Jen

My target had about 15 on the shelves and Walmart 4 but for $48.88.

  15. visitor3

We watched one of the many hatching videos online, which satisfied our curiosity. No need to own one.

  16. Krista

My local Walmart had a few on the shelf yesterday for $48.88.

  17. Shane

    These are sold out

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn!

  18. Jaime

Just left my Walmart (Bucks county, PA) they had plenty on the shelf for only $48.88!
