Does anyone know if gap has changed their policy on gift cards? Last time I had a gift card they told me I couldn’t use it with their 40% off sale. I thought that was ridiculous so I haven’t gotten gift cards since.
If the sale is 40% off for anyone – you can use the giftcards. If the 40% is a discount for GapCard holders, then the fine print will say you have to use a GapCard to pay for your purchase. The way around that is to use gift cards to pay for the majority of the purchase and put a little on your card (for instance, if the total is $53, you could pay $50 with giftcards and then charge the remaining $3 to meet the “use your card” requirement. Hope that helps!!
I would call coporate and tell them of your experience. Of course you can use a gift card on sale merchandise….its basically like telling someone you can’t spend your cash on sale items, just retail. I would definitely complain about your experience.
