If you have kids, Paddington is adorable and playing this weekend. Also, the Borrowers. Miss Potter is a sweet movie about Beatrix Potter too…. And I have been wanting to see Eddie the Eagle and I saw that it was playing this weeked too.

    • Julie

Thanks for the tips! I love to record a bunch of movies for the kids when they have free weekends

    • Kim

Do you know what channels the kid movies are on? I recorded Madagascar 11 and the peanuts movie.

  5. Shan

Thanks for the heads up!! Suddenlink has Showtime. The other premium channels aren’t working.

    • Shirley

      Same with Cox

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re so welcome!

Love the Coopers, Rocky Balboa, Burnt, Southpaw for movies. Ray Donovan, The Affair, Homeland and the premiere of Big Little Lies for tv shows.

Thanks SO much Collin!! I have recorded all the Harry Potter movies from Freeform except for they don’t show #5! (Order of the Phoenix). It’s the weirdest thing. Only HBO has it and it happens to be on on the 20th so I’m recording it. Never would have known if you hadn’t said it! So thank you 🙂 My son and I are obsessed right now and even though we have the boxed set, we don’t have a DVD player in every room. Recording allows me to watch in my bedroom while I’m cleaning, working, etc. So excited! Thanks so much!!

    • Faith

Good idea, but the Freeform and maybe other channels are not the whole movie, the edit out scenes to make it fit the time slot 🙁 as a Harry Potter fan: boo Freeform!!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Oh good! You’re most welcome!

Does anyone have Time Warner Cable and know if they are doing this too? My mother-in-law is 90 and she doesn’t know how to do it if they are…..TY!

I called comcast, my provider, and asked if they were one of the “various media subscribers” participating. They’re weren’t but gave me HBO, Showtime, and Starz FREE for 3 months!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

That’s awesome! Happy you could snag them for free for a bit!! Thanks for sharing your experience!
