i’m so glad this deal is back. I have the smaller size (3.5 qt I believe) of the stainless steel and really enjoy using it. I’m going to have to get this larger 7qt pot. thanks

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You’re welcome!

I bought this just after Christmas and I still haven’t gotten my rebate! Guess, I’m going to have to call. Good thing I made copies of everything before I mailed it. I do love the product, just hoping I’ll see my rebate someday.

    • Jen

I contacted Macy’s rebate center and they said my date was outside the range, which it was not. Once they looked again, they validated my rebate and will mail my check in 4 weeks. I guess I should have called sooner. So if you’re buying this, make copies and call if you don’t receive it. They do make mistakes too!

      • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh good! Happy they were able to correct your information so that you can receive it now! Thanks for sharing!

      • Amy P

Oh, that’s for saying this. I was experiencing the same issue. I’ll call!

help! how is this different than crock or like pot on stove? clueless cooker here

    • Jen

It’s a stove-top pot. I use my for soups, stews, or pasta dishes. It holds heat very well and the non-stick finish is great. I like the shape too because you can stir kinda wildly and nothing slops out! The only thing to be careful is that they say only use low-medium heat. I’m not sure why, but they say high heat can damage it. For this price, it’s a very nice pot!

Don’t forget to go thru E-bates, if you use it.

I just made apple dumplings in my Dutch oven and they were amazing. A simple recipe is using refrigerator pie crust and wrap your apples after you take the core out and sprinkle with brown sugar, white sugar and cinnamon and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. I actually used Granny Smith apples and did not peel them because I love the peelings. I melted some butter and poured over the dough to make the sugar mixture stick and when it comes out of the oven there is a yummy syrup at the bottom of the pot. I put vanillin ice cream on the side and sprinkle cinnamon on top and it is awesome. Very simple recipe I like to make with my kiddos.

      Yum! Thanks for sharing!

I understand this is a Dutch oven but it doesn’t say up to what temp you can use it with in the oven. I see one reader wrote she used it at 350 degrees. Did I miss oven info?

    • Jen

My care guide says it’s oven-safe up to 450 F (glass lid up to 350 F). Hope this helps!

  8. Sue

Thanks Jen, based on your info I decided to buy one.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You’re welcome Sue! Glad you could score one!
