On the fence? Lina’s (our DIY gal) Cricut Explore Air review –
I love the Cricut because it was easy to setup and worked the very first time I tried it. They walk you through exactly how to use it and how to make a cute greeting card project – so it teaches you.
The preset projects in the Cricut Design Space were perfect for learning and easy to understand. I also loved the marker feature of the Cricut for really fun written details! I love the tool storage on the Cricut machine too!
I am not an expert in this type of cutting machine crafting but was able to make these projects easily on the first day and had lots of FUN!
My experience with the Silhouette machine was very difficult and the opposite. I had a hard time loading the mat just right, and the setup was awkward in my opinion (this was also three years ago, so maybe the machine has changed a bit?).
How much is a Cricut Access membership? I’ve been on the fence about getting one of these!
I got the mid grade one for $9.99 a month
Thanks Jessica!
I believe you can also get the membership for 99.99 for the year. But if you do monthly your not contracted and can cancel anytime
I was interested in getting one to cut HTV for shirts for my kids, does anyone have experience with this machine? Would it do the job?
Yes it will do the job! I’ve made tons of shirts and Halloween costumes with it. You just need to be sure you have a good iron or a heat press. I currently do mine with an iron
Thank you soooo much!
I do it for every holiday! I made a bunch of Easter ones yesterday! I made one for everyday st Disney world and loved it!
Interesting comment at the end of the post. I attempted to use my mother in laws cricut before purchasing a machine & found it quite difficult. She received it less than a year ago and already sold it because it was such a pain. I purchased a silhouette & LOVE it. After watching a few YouTube videos & following some silhouette groups It was so easy. I’ve made tons of shirts, decals and other things already without any issues. Also, FYI for anyone checking out this deal I suggest you avoid purchasing cricut vinyl. There are cheaper options that are much easier to use and hold up wayyyyy better!
I would actually say the opposite. Cricut and the Design Space web software couldn’t be more intuitive and user friendly. I also really like their vinyl and also use Oracel 631/651 vinyl too. I think it’s each user to their own. Cricut also has great contributors like Melody Lane and TroyTube who have amazing YouTube videos that teach you in a snap.
I hate the cricut craft room. I’ve owned every cricut since the original release and use my silhouette because of the software.
I’m a newbie & love crafting. Making printed t-shirts is something I would love to do. What is the difference between an explore, an explore air & an explore air 2?
I agree I’ve made so much! Yesterday I made 8 shirts! Tons of you tube videos. I don’t use cricut vinyl though. I can find cheaper brands that are very high quality. I love my machine!
Which one(s) do you suggest? I just purchased a cricut last week and have lots of plans. Especially since I just got engaged.
Sorry to hear about that. Thanks so much for your honest review Alese!
Something to think about if you are debating Cricut vs Silhoutte…the Cricut software needs internet. The Silhoutte software is a download. Both have advantages and disadvantages, just something to note.
If you live near a Menards store, check for the Cricut Explore. My store has the Explore Bundle on clearance for $99 after sale and rebate. The rebate is a check that can be used at a Menards store (similar to a Home Depot store in what they sell). Here is a link….

I LOVE my Cricut!! I bought the Air everything bundle a couple of months ago. I’ve used it dozens of times already! I’ve made oodles of cards, shirts, banners, wall decals, car window decals, window clings for holiday decor, customized wedding gifts, personalized birthday gifts, a sight word flash card game, and I used it for glass etching for the first time tonight. If you love to craft, I highly recommend getting one!
Just something to consider though, the new Design Space software does not work well with older computer operating systems. My computer is about 10 years old and still uses Vista. I’ve had someone problems from time to time because the Explore Air is too high tech for my computer. I still use it all the time, I just run into snags when I try certain features.
Great to hear how many awesome items you have made! Thanks for the awesome feedback!
Darn! I waited to long. The Cricut with the Everything starter set is out of stock. And I didn’t notice until I had already signed up for Cricut Access. Instead of a good deal, I paid $10 for nothing. Go me!
I was too late too:( I’m looking into the delux set now, still seems like a good deal?
Oh bummer! 🙁 Thanks for the heads up!
I LOVE my cricut explorer!!! Use is daily and along with a heat press has been my new addiction!! I am making stuff for everyone! Even opened en Etsy shop with most things made with using the Cricut, you can see some ideas if you would like,

What is the difference between the explore and the air? I’m def a novice so I’m wondering how much I really need/want to invest for occasional crafts with my kids?😬
The Explore will need the Bluetooth adapter if you want to use or wirelessly the Air has the Bluetooth built in.
FYI your link is going to page not found
Sorry, Etsy.com/shop/countrysquared
How cool! Thanks for sharing your experience Jenny!
I’m not sure how to use both coupons. The Hip2save coupon code as well as the cricut member discount. Please advise.
Hey Shar! After signing up for Circut Access, you’ll get an automatic 10% off at checkout. AFTER you see that discount, you can enter the promo code HIP2SAVE and you’ll score another 15% off + FREE shipping. Hope that helps!
Im also having trouble. I purchased the cricut access added the cricut explore and it is not adding the 10%.
Hmm, are you on a mobile device? If not, be sure to try it in a different browser. Hope this helps!
Using the HIP2SAVE code and Circut Access Membership you can save at least 55% on supplies PLUS FREE SHIPPING! Right now the site is having a Pre-Anniversary Sale and prices have been slashed 30% on supplies. You must be a member to see the discounted prices!!
Sweet! Thanks for sharing!
is it better to get the bundle “Explore Air Machine and Everything Starter Kit” with the discount or just go ahead and get the new Explore Air 2 without discount? I’m brand new at this 🙂
